Kevin James Began His Career As a Stand-Up on the Long Island Comedy Scene Kevin James began his career as a stand-up on the Long Island comedy scene. After being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom. The King of Queens, which premiered in 1998, ran for nine seasons on CBS with James starring and executive producing, and it garnered him an Emmy nomination in 2006 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show concluded its run in 2007 but continues to air daily in syndication across the country and around the world. James also starred in and executive produced the sitcom Kevin Can Wait for Sony Television and CBS. In 2001, James brought his stand-up act to TV with Sweat the Small Stuff, a one-hour special for Comedy Central. In 2005, Kevin James and Ray Romano executive produced and starred in the HBO Sports Special Making the Cut: The Road to Pebble Beach; a documentary about the Pebble Beach Pro Am Golf Tournament that was nominated for a Sports Emmy. His second comedy special Never Don’t Give Up premiered on Netflix in April 2018. James was the producer, co-writer, and star of the hit comedies Paul Blart: Mall Cop 1 & 2, Zookeeper, and Here Comes The Boom. James made his feature film debut in 2005 in Columbia Pictures’ Hitch starring opposite Will Smith, and starred alongside Adam Sandler in Pixels, Grown Ups, Grown Ups 2, and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. He starred in the feature True Memoirs of an International Assassin for Netflix in 2016. In addition to his on-camera work, James’s voice has been featured in the animated films Barnyard for Nick Movies, as well as Monster House and the Hotel Transylvania franchise for Sony Pictures Animation. .

  • CBS' 'Young Sheldon' Has Strongest Comedy Opening in Four Years
CBS' 'Young Sheldon' Has Strongest Comedy Opening in Four Years 09.26.2017 CBS' Young Sheldon, arguably the show most likely to succeed this season, came out of the gate with a big bang, debuting at a 3.7 rating among adults 18-49 and 16.6 million viewers. That's the most-watched premiere rating for a new comedy since 2 Broke Girls debuted in 2011 and the highest-rated since The Crazy Ones in 2013. That said, both of those shows have since been canceled, with 2 Broke Girls ending its run after last season and The Crazy Ones - which starred Sarah Michelle Gellar and the late, great Robin Williams as a daughter-father advertising team - failed to make it past season one. Young Sheldon debuted out of the show from which it's spun, The Big Bang Theory, and held almost all of its viewers. Big Bang, opening season 11, premiered at a 3.9 rating in the key demo and 17 million viewers. Young Sheldon was just teasing viewers with this early episode, however. It's not due to return until its official premiere on Nov. 2, after CBS completes its run of Thursday Night Football and the show can enter its regular time slot of Thursday at 8:30 p.m., behind The Big Bang Theory. Kevin Can Wait, starring Kevin James and featuring the arrival of Leah Remini among some viewer blowback, returned for season two at 9 p.m. with a 2.3 in the demo and 10.1 million viewers, while new sitcom Me Myself & I starring Bobby Moynihan and John Larroquette premiered at a 1.7 in the demo and 7.4 million viewers.

Carroll Date Professor of History Dr. Samuel Regalado Date Professor of History Dr. Marcy Rose Chvasta Date Professor of Communications © 2014 Kathleen Boone Chapman ALL RIGHTS RESERVED DEDICATION I am dedicating this work to my three dear friends: Ronda James, Candace Paulson, and Michele Sniegoski. Ronda’s encouragement and obedience to the Lord gave me what I needed to go back to school with significant health issues and so late in life. Candace, who graduated from Stanford “back in the olden days,” to quote our kids, inspired me to follow my dream and become all God wants me to be. Michele’s long struggle with terminal kidney disease motivated me to keep living in spite of my own health issues. We have laughed and cried together over many years, but all of you have given me strength to carry on. Sorry two of you made it to heaven before I could get this finished. I also want to give credit to my husband of forty years who has been a faithful breadwinner, proof-reader, and a paragon of patience. What more could any woman ask for? He has also put up with me yelling at my computer and cursing Bill Gates – A LOT.

2/5 1 HERE COMES THE BOOM COMEDY $43 MILL BO 3014 SCREENS PG 105 MINUTES Kevin James (PAUL BLART: MALL COP, ZOOKEEPER, GROWN UPS, HITCHED) Henry Winkler (THE ONE AND ONLY, THE WATERBOY, CLICK, SCREAM) Salma Hayek (GROWN UPS, SAVAGES, WILD WILD WEST, TRAFFIC) Middle-aged biology teacher Scott Voss (James) becomes a mixed martial arts fighter to raise money for his High School in this latest movie from Kevin James. Voss was Teacher of the Year 10 years ago, but what a difference a decade makes. He now shows up late, reads the paper in class, and advises his best student that school "just doesn't matter." His only interest, understandably, is in nurse Bella (Hayek), who (also understandably) wants nothing to do with him. When Principal Betcher (Greg Germann) announces that budget cuts will eliminate extracurricular activities, it threatens the music program of his friend and colleague Marty (Winkler). This drives Voss to fight for Marty's job, and for Bella's heart. Voss learns that even losing in a high profile fight will earn him much more money than will his moonlighting job teaching English as a second language. Immigrant student and former Ultimate Fighter Niko (Bas Rutten) agrees to train Voss to do what he's already a natural at: losing. This is where this movie becomes graphic in both a bloody and cartoonish sense. The epic beatings Voss takes are less damaging to him than they arguably are for the kids watching the movie. His only addressed injury is a dislocated shoulder, and a vague reference to a previous hospital visit, which "cost me more money than I made in the fight." There's no reason why Voss is not killed or permanently injured the first time he finds himself in a cage, aside from the convenience of also finding himself in a family movie.
