WORK EXPERIENCE Alpert Medical School CPR Leadership, Providence, RI June 2020 - present ​ ​ 2020-2021 CPR Leadership Board Member Chat, Process, Reflect (CPR) is a monthly 2-hour educational session designed to facilitate critical conversations amongst 3rd year medical students related to experiences unique to the practice of clinical medicine. The four CPR Board Leaders design the curriculum, create lesson plans for the 10 sessions on diverse topics ranging from "Wellness" to "Death and Dying," as well as "Race in Medicine." In 2020 these sessions were attended by more than 150 Brown medical students.

Rhode Island Department of Health, Providence, RI March 2020 - April 2020 ​ RI DOH COVID-19 Emergency Response Triage Line Leader Worked 40 hrs/week for four weeks alongside the Triage team at the Rhode Island Department of Health on the department’s COVID-19 emergency response Task Force. Responsibilities included fielding and returning phone calls from patients and providers to identify potential cases and disseminate RI DOH guidance for individuals, hospitals, and other institutions. This experience required use of principles of population health and advocacy as well as effective communication skills, basic clinical skills, and principles of diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of infectious disease.

The Association to Benefit Children (ABC) Fast Break Clinic, Bronx, NY July 2018 ​ Psychiatry and Community Outreach Intern for the Bronx “Fast Break” Mental Health Clinic Co-lead a weekly social skills therapy group for 10 children ages 4-7 years old, many of whom had behavioral issues and mental health diagnoses, including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), severe Anxiety and Depression, and disruptive behavioral problems. Conducted outreach to local organizations serving children in the Bronx to raise awareness about ABC’s service. Worked with the clinic’s psychiatrist conducting evaluations of children with complex psychosocial needs. Raised over $300 and created a board games “library” for the clinic so that families could borrow games to play at home to foster guardian-child relationships and healthy attachment. Attended daycare and preschool site visits to provide psychosocial support for young children who would otherwise not have access to care. Participated in a 9-hour conference entitled “Sensory Integration and Self-regulation: Sensory Contributions to Young Children’s Social-Emotional Development organized by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. AMS Preclinical Elective: Exploring the Biopsychosocial Model, Providence, RI March 2018 - March 2019 ​ Elective Co-Leader / Co-creator Co-created and led the pre-clinical elective BIOL 6695: Exploring the Biopsychosocial Model, which has continued since its creation in the 2018-2019 academic year. The course’s objective is to educate medical students on the impact of psychology and psychiatry on various specialties and subspecialties in medicine. The goal is to provide a forum in which students can discuss the role of the biopsychosocial model in medical practice with Brown faculty using case studies and open discussion. Additionally, the course gives students a head start in learning how to deal with some of the common psychiatric concerns that arise in clinical settings, acting as a supplement to Alpert Medical School’s Doctoring course.

AMS Medical Humanities Interest Group, Providence, RI March 2018 - March 2019 ​ Interest Group Leader Co-led Alpert Medical School's Medical Humanities Interest Group. Responsibilities included organizing events that drew upon the creative and intellectual strengths of diverse disciplines — including literature, art, creative writing, drama, film,

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE Alpert Medical School Teddy Bear Clinic, Providence, RI September 2017-March 2019 ​ Volunteer Child Health Literacy Teacher Engaged with dozens of children, ages 3 - 8, as a volunteer for the Teddy Bear Clinic. Collaboratively organized and run events at local schools and community centers with the aim of introducing health literacy to young children in underprivileged communities. Topics of lessons include healthy habits, visiting the doctor’s office, exercise, and . Sex Ed by Brown Med, Providence, RI September 2017-March 2018 ​ Volunteer Sexual Education Teacher Provided interactive sexual education and health literacy education as part of a student-run curriculum that serves as the only source of formalized sexual education for middle school students in Central Falls, RI. Central Falls is a resource-poor area that has been identified by the CDC for high rates of HIV/STIs and teen pregnancy. The Sex Ed by Brown Med

3 curriculum provides lessons, training sessions, and materials for medical students to improve health outcomes, become better communicators, and to act as key stakeholders in the surrounding community. Sex Ed by Brown Med, Providence, RI October 2017-March 2018 ​ Sexual Education Outreach Volunteer Engaged with high school students in Central Falls, RI during lunch hours to provide information about sexual health, contraceptive options, and the importance of consent, as well as educated students about local sexual health services and overall health resources through their school and local community. Part of our work also involved recruiting high school students for a school based peer-health navigator and outreach program.

Rhode Island Free Clinic (RIFC), Providence, RI October 2017-March 2018 ​ Volunteer Medical Recorder Worked as a medical recorder for Rhode Island Free Clinic, which provides coordinated health services and primary care for nearly 3,000 low-income and uninsured patients who would otherwise not have access to essential healthcare services.

New York Cares, New York, NY December 2016-March 2017 ​ ​ ​ Volunteer Volunteered with numerous organizations on various projects related to health and wellness, children’s health, and poverty alleviation in New York City. A large portion of this work was spent providing after-school tutoring, as well as work with two large food pantries in Brooklyn, NY. (Volunteered 75 hours between December 2016-May 2017.)

The Peter C. 4 Worked closely with Dr. Rebecka Peebles, attending physician in the Adolescent Medicine Division at CHOP, shadowing her and assisting with data entry for her research on Family-Based Therapy (FBT) for Eating Disorder. (Average 50 hours/week.) Worked on an independent research project, which I created and designed, focused on using pediatric growth curves as a diagnostic tool for Eating Disorders. In 2018 my research was presented research at the Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) 2017 Meeting.
