We look to those who engage in the messiness of life, recognise issues to be resolved and have the capacity to share and engage in a hope-filled way forward. Jesus is and was a great hope giver. He lived the messiness of human life and suffered great pain for us, so that we might have the hope of eternal life. His voice was one of hope and offered better ways for humanity to live. His two great commandments were that we love God with all our heart and we love our neighbour as ourselves. Most early writing on PRB focused on the early years of the growth of nationalism in Brunei. When rebellion broke out in Brunei in 1962, the PRB was banned. However, works concerning the development of the second PRB between 1973-1979 rarely received attention. There are many stories about the escape from the Berakas Detention Camp by PRB members without a recognised source. The primary purpose of this study is to explain the reasons for PRB being revived in Malaysia in 1973. In addition, this study is an attempt to explain the development and achievements of PRB from 1974-1976. This study will also analyze the main reason behind PRB’s failure and the end of their struggle in 1979. The findings show that the success of the PRB revival is through the support of the Government of Malaysia. However, the Government of Malaysia’s support for the PRB was occasioned by the conflict between Brunei and Malaysia over the issue of Limbang. A change in leadership in Malaysia ended the PRB struggle, along with the intervention of the British Government to resolve the problems of both countries.

    Special Olympics Labuan raih Naib Johan Pertandingan 10th Special Olympics Borneo Cup Labuan : Seramai 5 pelajar Program Pendidikan Khas Integriti (PPKI) Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Lajau WP. Labuan telah menyertai dan mewakili Special Olympics Labuan dalam pertandingan 10th Special Olympics Borneo Cup and 1st Unified 5 A-Side Football Tournament 2017 di negara Brunei Darussalam bermula 15hb dan berakhir 19hb November 2017. Pelajar tersebut ialah Mohd Abri Mohd Salleh, Mohd Al Shadie Mohd Salleh, Mohd Khairi Mohd Yamin, Shafiqe Abdul Rahim dan Razak Osman. Pertandingan yang diadakan di Stadium Hassanal Bolkiah Berakas Brunei Darussalam itu menyaksikan Special Olympics Labuan telah mendapat naib johan setelah tewas kepada pasukan tuan rumah di perlawanan akhir. Manakala pasukan senior yang juga juara bertahan edisi ke 9 juga mendapat naib johan setelah tewas kepada tuan rumah dengan jaringan 1-0. Special Olympics Labuan juga disertai oleh 9 orang lagi dari ahli PDK (Pusat Pemulihan Komuniti) Labuan yang juga majoriti merupakan bekas pelajar SMK Lajau. Kedua-dua pasukan ini telah dilatih dan diringi oleh En Mohd Azhar Bin Kasiman (PPKI SMK.Lajau) dan En.Wong Foo Fook Nelson (Special Olympics Labuan) Kejohanan kali ini disertai oleh tiga negara iaitu Brunei Darussalam dengan menghantar 4 pasukan, Indonesia diwakili oleh Kalimantan Utara, 2 pasukan, Kalimantan Selatan 2 pasukan. Manakala pasukan Malaysia diwakili negeri Sarawak, 2 pasukan, Sabah 1 pasukan dan Labuan, 2 pasukan. Majlis penutupan dan penyampaian hadiah disempurnakan oleh Yang berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman Menteri Pendidikan Negara Brunei Darussalam.     Processes of large-scale oil palm development on native customary land in Sarawak: a rural livelihoods approach Sunny Sanderson MPhil (BSc), BA A thesis submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at The University of Queensland in 2017 School of Agriculture and Food Sciences Abstract The oil palm boom has resulted in an unprecedented rate of expansion in the Malaysian state of Sarawak. The planted area increased by 40 percent from 2010 to 2015, from 1.0 to 1.4 million hectares, with an ambitious plan to further increase this figure to two million hectares by 2020. However, the profitability and continued growth of this boom crop are heavily reliant on two key factors: an abundance of land and labour. The first depends on the conversion of large tracts of Native Customary Rights (NCR) land. In 2016, there was officially estimated to be 1.5 million hectares of NCR land in Sarawak, of which 328,000 hectares had been converted to oil palm, and a further 500,000 hectares was targeted for conversion. There are two main State agencies specifically tasked with large-scale oil palm development on NCR land: the Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (SALCRA) and the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA). The former implements managed smallholder schemes implemented by a public agency, and the latter negotiates joint venture schemes with private plantation companies. The second key factor for expansion is continued access to Indonesian migrant labourers, who make up 80 to 90 percent of the plantation workforce. The rapid expansion of oil palm plantations in Sarawak has raised fundamental questions about the institutional arrangements in place to access NCR land for large-scale conversion, especially those that embrace the private sector.
