King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO) Ascot Racecourse Background Information for the 65th Running Saturday, July 25, 2015 Winners of the Investec Derby going on to the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO) Unbeaten Golden Horn, whose victories this year include the Investec Derby and the Coral-Eclipse, will try to become the 14th Derby winner to go on to success in Ascot’s midsummer highlight, the Group One King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO), in the same year and the first since Galileo in 2001. Britain's premier all-aged 12-furlong contest, worth a boosted £1.215 million this year, takes place at 3.50pm on Saturday, July 25. Golden Horn extended his perfect record to five races on July 4 in the 10-furlong Group One Coral- Eclipse at Sandown Park, beating older opponents for the first time in great style. The three-year-old Cape Cross colt, owned by breeder Anthony Oppenheimer and trained by John Gosden in Newmarket, captured Britain's premier Classic, the Investec Derby, over 12 furlongs at Epsom Downs impressively on June 6 after being supplemented following a runaway Betfred Dante Stakes success at York in May. If successful at Ascot on July 25, Golden Horn would also become the fourth horse capture the Derby, Eclipse and King George in the same year. ËËË Three horses have completed the Derby/Eclipse/King George treble in the same year - Nashwan (1989), Mill Reef (1971) and Tulyar (1952). ËËË The 2001 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes saw Galileo become the first Derby winner at Epsom Downs to win the Ascot contest since Lammtarra in 1995.

The WINTER 2012 KINGSCLERE Quarter THE PARK HOUSE STABLES NEWSLETTER The INTRODUCTION AB KINGSCLERE was a memorable one for many reasons, The Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the Quarter 2012 London Olympics and the Paralympics all contributed to the ‘feel good factor’ that seemed to exist throughout the summer months. In addition to these events, Park House enjoyed its most successful year in terms of number of races won, individual winners and domestic prize money accumulated during a long and distinguished history. Whilst we may have more horses in training then in previous years and the rate of inflation over the last one hundred years certainly slants the figures in the favour of 2012, it was still a year to remember for all involved.Bonfire provided us with both the highlight and the lowlight of the season, his fantastic victory at York gave us real hope in our quest for the holy grail but sadly neither in the Derby at Epsom or the Eclipse Stakes at Sandown IMPERIAL GLANCE following his win at Epsom with his proud owner-breeder Sandie Newton, David Probert and Matti did he show what he is really capable of. • THE PARK HOUSE STABLES NEWSLETTER the KINGSCLERE INTRODUCTION Quarter 2013 Was a Hugely Rewarding Year for All at Park House
The SPRING 2014 KINGSCLERE Quarter THE PARK HOUSE STABLES NEWSLETTER The KINGSCLERE INTRODUCTION Quarter 2013 was a hugely rewarding year for all at Park House. It was the first time in the yard’s long and esteemed history that the numbers of winners for the season exceeded the century. We had Group 1 success in Australia, Group race success domestically and enjoyed some big handicap wins to boot. It would be nice to think that we have the equine ammunition to at least equal last season’s results and we will all be striving through the summer months to try and better it! This season has started well thus far with 13 wins from 73 runners and a very satisfying sequence of wins for Alumina and Pool House who both completed hat tricks during the Field of Fame winter. As the endless rain of January and February has finally Front cover: Leanne receiving her ‘Employee of the year award’ from A.P. McCoy subsided, there is plenty to look forward to in the coming Back cover: ‘Walking Home’ months both at home and further afield. We look particularly strong in the three year old department CONTENTS this season and hopes are high that the likes of Scotland and Casual Smile could develop into Classic contenders this THE SEASON AHEAD 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 summer. ANDREW BALDING Historically our older horses have always contributed more GODOLPHIN – STABLE STAFF AWARDS 9 than their fair share of the annual prize money total and I WELCOME TO HEAD LAD 9 can see no reason why 2014 should be any different with 2014 TWELVE TO FOLLOW COMPETITION 10, 11 & 12 the likes of Side Glance, Tullius, Highland Knight and Highland POINTERS FOR 2014 13 & 14 Colori remaining in training.
