TRACK PLANS for YOUR SPACE, a COMPLETE INDEX, by SIZE of Real Race Tracks on a Tabletop TRACK PLANS FOR YOUR SPACE, A COMPLETE INDEX, BY SIZE of Real Race Tracks on a Tabletop This is a complete index of 151 plans published in Model Car Racing magazine (and in four books) for 1/32 scale track, including 38 plans for 5 x 9-foot ping-pong tables, and 14 for 4 x 8-foot areas plus another 99 for larger spaces. The plans are arranged in order by size. Most of these plans are designed for Carrera, Sport, Scalextric Classic, SCX or NINCO track, however, to build the plan with NINCO track you will need about 10-percent more space and you may need some additional short straights to get everything to line up properly. SB indicates plans for the older out-of-production Strombecker Track and there is one plan for Artin track. Two-Lane plans are listed first, followed by four-lane plans, then a six-lane plan. Routed plans for hand-made wood tracks are near the bottom of the list. HO SCALE plans are at the bottom of the page. Custom-Fitted Tracks From Model Car Racing Plans You can custom-fit any of the plans in Model Car Racing but, usually, only to make them larger. Most have places marked with a W or an L where pairs of straight track sections can be inserted to enlarge the plan to any size. In some cases you may be able to remove tracks at those points to fit the track into a smaller space but, usually, the plans are as small as they can be for the given area without completely redesigning the track. If the plan is four-lane you can assemble just the inner two lanes and save about a foot of space in both directions. To make the plans fit any smaller space you will have to use smaller radius curves and, most often, the plan will lose much of it’s realism-in-action---better to pick plan to fit a space that is closer to what you have available. If you want to design your own track, or just make a more-informed decision on picking a plan, I recommend that you read Chapter 7 “Building 1/32 Scale Raceways” in RACING AND COLLECTING SLOT CARS. All of the basics of model race car track design including “Do’s and don’ts”, why borders or shoulders are necessary, and other important aspects of assembling a 1/32 scale model race car track that is both fun and challenging to drive are in that chapter. SOURCES FOR PLANS: •We have no supply (zero) of back issues, except for the $85.00 package of issues 1-6 with the Scalextric LeMans Cadillac. •Plans in issues #1 through #6 are available ONLY as a package of the six issues with Scalextric Limited Edition Cadillac LeMans car. •Plans in issues #7 through #19 are reprinted in the book SLOT CAR TIPS, TRICKS AND TRACK PLANS •Plans in issues #20 through #36 are reprinted in the book SLOT CARS IN THE DIGITAL AGE. •Plans marked “R&CSC” (and no issue #) are available ONLY in the book RACING AND COLLECTING SLOT CARS. •Plans marked with just “SCB” (and no issue #) are available ONLY in the SLOT CAR BIBLE (out of print) SINGLE-LANE (RALLY) HILLCLIMB TRACKS: •4 x 8-feet, SCB TWO-LANE TRACKS: Any of these tracks can be converted to Scalextric Sport, NINCO N-Digital or Carrera Digital 132 to allow you to race 6 cars on two lanes (8 cars with N-Digital). Sport has an adaptor track to match Sport Digital to the older Scalextric Classic or standard SCX track. The SCX Digital track system does not have an outer-outer curve so no plans that utilize this curve can be used with SCX Digital system. Press Release Number 30 / 2016 Race 3 saw Victory go to Juan Correa who was first also in the Rookie Trophy. The asphalt was still partly wet when the decision was made to start the race behind the Safety Car. Finishing behind Correa were Diego Ciantini and Yan Shlom. Lorenzo Colombo and Artem Petrov finishing second and third in the Rookie Trophy. IMOLA 29 May, 2016 - As in Race 2, Race 3 also started behind the Safety Car which came into the pits on the second lap. The first action saw Correa (Prema Power Team) get past the Russian Yan Shlom (RB Racing) who started from pole courtesy of the top ten grid positions being inversed from the result of race 2. • The uncertain conditions on the circuit saw many nervous passing manoeuvres; one of these saw the Canadian Devlin De Francesco (Kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport) leave the circuit obliging the Safety Car to return to the track to lead the pack. On the fourth lap, this third race saw a new battle emerge between Shlom and the Argentine Diego Ciantini (Jenzer Motorsport) for second place in the race; going into the sixth lap of the Imola circuit, Ciantini left the circuit on the main straight which saw the Race Director put out the red flag to decide the race. • The classification was therefore as per the end lap 5; Raul Guzman (DR Racing) taking fourth, followed by Marcos Siebert (Jenzer Motorsport), Mick Schumacher (Prema Power Team), Job Van Uitert (Jenzer Motorsport), Ye Yifei (Kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport), Lorenzo Colombo (BVM Racing) and Joao Vieria (Antonelli Motorsport).

  • Racing Towards a Sustainable Future a Review of the Sustainability Performance of International Racing Circuits
RACING TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE A REVIEW OF THE SUSTAINABILITY PERFORMANCE OF INTERNATIONAL RACING CIRCUITS Edition June 2021 Racing towards a sustainable future FOREWORD I have been involved with the safety and sustainability of racing tracks for many years now, as a driver, GPDA Chairman and a circuit designer. And while I would argue that big improvements have been made in terms of safety, I also know that there is a long way to go in terms of fully embracing sustainability for racing tracks around the globe. Though circuits have started to change the way in which they approach sustainability, more guidance on what sustainability means and how a circuit can be sustainable are needed. This is why I welcome this new research and the data-driven proposal of the Sustainable Circuits Index™, highlighting indicators from the wider sustainability and sport ecosystem, encouraging best practice and calling attention to the importance of transparent reporting and independent validation. Motorsport has historically been defined by its commitment to innovation and excellence through competition. It’s now critically important for our sport to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability through collaboration. This paper highlights the new metrics for success in this global effort and provides circuits with the tools they need to help win the race for our planet, a race which we can only win together. Alexander Wurz Former F1 Driver, GPDA Chairman, and Consultant on Road Safety and Circuit Design Sustainability is one of the key issues of today’s society as confirmed by the increasing attention of governments, media, academics, and industry.
