The Christmas Festival is one of many Saundersfoot events organised by The Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism (SCT) - a voluntary, non profit making organisation, with over 70 local business members. SCT’s aim is to enhance the village's unique community spirit and to develop tourism through the provision of events, to give a village for all seasons. Members display their membership badge on their businesses and are listed on the SCT noticeboard (on wall of the Rock n Fudge shop) and website. Without their support these events would not be possible. Please support them. To find out more visit the SCT exhibit in the main marquee. Many amazing prizes have been generously donated by Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism business members These include restaurant meals, hotel stays, gift vouchers and so much more (a full list can be found on the SCT exhibit and website). He will deliver a celebration of popular songs from the 60s to the present, with a strong focus on acoustic versions of some of the great singer-songwriters and bands from this period. Ever-popular FIDDLEBOX return to bring their own unique fun- loving style to the festival. Welcome again to Helen (The Fiddle) Adam and George (The Box) Whitfield, described as “sounding more like a four-piece than a duo’’. Helen and George have been playing together for 13 years, and draw on a massive repertoire with traditional Welsh, Irish, American, Klezmer and rock roots, as well as their own material. GREENHILL SCHOOL JAZZ BAND performs traditional Big Band-style music, adding their own jazz flavour to other popular songs. Lisa’s new project, planned for Autumn 2018, is a purpose-built cookery school and skills centre, plus coffee shop, in a converted cow shed at Allt y Gog Farm, adjacent to the Pumpkin Patch. One of Lisa’s demos this weekend will be a fish chowder, and children will also be able to help her decorate her own gingerbread Saundersfoot harbour village! Anthony Evans is a frequent guest chef at Saundersfoot events, and enjoys nothing more than sourcing produce from the market’s stalls to use in his recipes. He appears on S4C, alongside his full-time work for Castell Howell. “I get chance to develop ideas for them on new lines from time to time, but I also get to see, taste and use the new modern foods that are hot off the press,” said Anthony. “I love it!” The BoatHouse head chef, 25-year-old Giuseppe ‘Pepe’ Trimorco, was appointed to lead the contemporary restaurant in Saundersfoot when it opened in summer 2016. He was voted ‘Cawl Cooking Champion of the World… and Elsewhere’ by the public in Saundersfoot earlier this year. Pepe’s cawl is now one of the restaurant’s most popular choices. Pepe trained at Lamphey Hall Hotel and worked at The Grove, Narberth before taking up his current position. He said: “I have a passion for Italian food and fresh fish...something I picked up from my father who was also a trained chef.” Saundersfoot’s legendary annual Cawl Trail returns next March. Can The BoatHouse retain its crown? It’s up to you to decide! Take part in the trail, taste the cawl around venues in the village and vote for your favourite. There is a lot on besides cawl – including music and a village trail for the children – it’s a brilliant family day out. Keep the date free and check Facebook and our website for updates.
