The workshop was conducted in collaboration with Commerce & Management Association and S.D.M. P.G. Study centre, Kodialbail, Mangalore. The Chief Guest and resource person of the workshop were Prof.Deepa Nayak, Lecturer, S.D.M. P.G. Study centre, Kodialbail, Mangalore. Around 100 students actively participated in the workshop. Student council members, secretaries of various associations, departments and cells and class representatives participated in the workshop. • IQAC in association with department of political science of the college organised Mangalore Taluk Level special programme on “One Nation One Constitution” on 22/11/2019. Former principal of Government First Grade College, Haleyangadi, Prof.Vishwanath Bhat was the 6 guest of honour. All the faculty memebers and memebers of students council were present in the programme. • Organised one-day workshop ‘NAAC- Perspectives in new methodology’ on 20-09-2019 in the college auditorium.Resource person Dr Ravi, Assistant Professor, Govt.First Grade College, Vamadapadavu discussed about the new methodology NAAC and clarified doubts of the teachers. 60 teaching and non-teaching staff attended the workshop. STUDENTS’ COUNCIL Student Welfare Officer: Mr.Chandrashekara.K • Orientation program was held for the first year B. A, B.Sc and B.CA students on 24-06-2019 and on 06-7-19 for B. Com, BA, B.Sc, BCA and BBM students. All the firs year degree students attended the program. Members of the staff gave information on various aspects like college timings, uniform, discipline, sports, library, importance of extra - curricular activities along with studies. • Class representatives of First, Second and Final year classes were selected and office bearers of the student council were selected for the year 2019-20. Mamatha of Final B.Com (B) is selected as President, Rasheena Banu Final B.Sc as Vice-president, Shwetha V Final BCA as secretary, Masith Final BA as joint secretary and Raseena Thasneem Final BBA as joint secretary of the college for the academic year 2019-20. Student leaders were selected on merit basis. • The first meeting of student council with class representatives, secretaries of NSS, sports, Fine arts was held on 13-7-19. Students were addressed by Mr.Chandrahekara.K, student welfare officer and academic advisor of the college. • Student’s council inauguration for the academic year 2019-20 was held on 13th August 2019 at town hall Mangalore. Mr. Vedavyas Kamath, MLA of Mangalore south constituency was the president programme, Mr.P.S. Prakash, chief editor of Hosadigantha daily newspaper was the guest of honour. Prof.Srivarma Ajri, principal of Government First Grade College Karkala inaugurated the programme. Prof.Jagadish Bala principal of the college were present in the programme. Prof.Chandrashekara.K, Coordinator of Student council and Student welfare of the college gave pledge of oath to the students council members. Ms.Mamatha, Presidnt of students council welcomed the gathering, Secretary Ms.Shwetha proposed vote of thanks. Vice president Ms.Rasheena Banu, Joint secretaries Ms. Raseena Thasneem and Ms. Masitha were present in 7 the programme. The inauguration was followed by a cultural programme. Ms.Soumyashree was the master of ceremony. All the faculty members and students were present in the programme. • 73rd Independence day was celebrated in the college on 15th August 2019. Ex-service man- Defence and present employee of corporation bank, Hampankatta, Mangalore Mr.Somashekar.K was the guest of honour for flag hoisting. In the 73rd Independence day speech he encouraged the students to join the army and serve the nation with pride. He shared the experience of his service and obstacles he faced. Prof.Jagadish Bala principal of the college was the president of the programme. Vice president of students council Ms. Rasheena welcomed all who present in the programme. Joint secretary Ms.Raseena Thasneem proposed vote of thanks. Ms.Mamatha President of the student council was the master of ceremony. Prof.Chandrashekara.K, Coordinator of Student council and Students welfare of the college and all the staff members were present in the programme. All the faculty members and students were present in the programme. • The student’s council of the college organised Teacher’s day celebration on 5th september 2019 in the college.
