Bank of Russia issues commemorative coins

On 3 October 2016, the Bank of Russia issues a silver proof coin in denomination of 3 rubles to commemorate Juma-Jami Mosque in Yevpatoria within the series Architectural Monuments of Russia. The reverse side of the coin depicts a relief image of the mosque. Its mintage is 5,000 pieces.

Silver proof coins in denomination of 3, 25 and 200 rubles, as well as gold proof coins in denomination of 50 and 10,000 rubles to commemorate the historical and architectural monument Novodevichy Convent in Moscow are issued within the Russia in the UNESCO World Culture and Nature Heritage series.

The reverse side of the silver proof coin in denomination of 3 rubles has a relief image of the Cathedral, while the coin in denomination of 25 rubles has relief images of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin and the Church of the Transfiguration. The mintage of the coins is 5,000 and 1,500 pieces respectively.

The panorama of the Novodevichy Convent stands out on the reverse side of a silver proof coin in denomination of 200 rubles. There is an inscription „Новодевичий монастырь в Москве” (Novodevichy Convent in Moscow) along the circumference on top with a relief image of „Осада Смоленска” (Smolensk Besieged) under it. The mintage of this coin is 150 pieces only.

The reverse side of the gold proof coin in denomination of 50 rubles has a relief image of the Pokrov Church. The mintage of the coin is 1,500 pieces. It is noteworthy that the mintage of gold proof coins in denomination of 10,000 rubles is limited to up to 75 pieces only. Their reverse side is decorated with relief images of the panorama of the Niovodevichy Convent and Vasily III stamp with a miniature image right under the „Новодевичий монастырь в Москве” (Novodevichy Convent in Moscow) inscription.
