A lineage of ownership The Blackhawks are on the third generation of Wirtz family leadership. Arthur Wirtz bought into the team in the 1940s and (deceased) died in 1983. Arthur’s son, , ran the franchise until his death in 2007. , 60, took over from there. As the Wirtz Corp. has passed down, its stakes continue to be divided.
