A lineage of ownership Arthur Wirtz The Blackhawks are on the third generation of Wirtz family leadership. Arthur Wirtz bought into the team in the 1940s and (deceased) died in 1983. Arthur’s son, Bill Wirtz, ran the franchise until his death in 2007. Rocky Wirtz, 60, took over from there. As the Wirtz Corp. has passed down, its stakes continue to be divided.
