Frick Award Online Balloting Begins Tomorrow and Continues Through Sept. 30 OAKLAND, Calif. – No baseball broadcaster was more decisive—or distinctive—in the big moment than the Oakland A’s late, great Bill King. Now, it’s time for his legions of ardent supporters to be just as decisive in voting him into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Starting tomorrow, fans of the legendary A’s announcer can cast their online ballot for a man who is generally regarded as the greatest broadcaster in Bay Area history when the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum’s Facebook site is activated for 2012 Ford C. Frick Award voting during the month of September. King, who passed away at the age of 78 in 2005, was the leading national vote-getter in fan balloting for the Frick Award in both 2005 and 2006. Following his death, the A’s permanently named their Coliseum broadcast facilities the “Bill King Broadcast Booth” after the team’s revered former voice. Online voting for fan selections for the award will begin at 7 a.m. PDT tomorrow, Sept. 1, at the Hall of Fame’s Facebook site, www.facebook.com/baseballhall, and conclude at 2 p.m. PDT Sept. 30. The top three fan selections from votes tallied at the site during September will appear on the final 10-name ballot for the award.

LEGENDS IN THE MLB COMMUNITY 2018 A Office of the Commissioner MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL ROBERT D. MANFRED, JR. Commissioner of Baseball Dear Friends and Colleagues: Baseball is fortunate to occupy a special place in our culture, which presents invaluable opportunities to all of us. Major League Baseball’s 2018 Community Affairs Report demonstrates the breadth of our game’s efforts to make a difference for our fans and communities. The 30 Major League Clubs work tirelessly to entertain and to build teams worthy of fan support. Yet their missions go much deeper. Each Club aims to be a model corporate citizen that gives back to its community. Additionally, Major League Baseball is honored to support the important work of core partners such as Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the Jackie Robinson Foundation and Stand Up To Cancer. We are proud to use our platform to lift spirits, to create legacies and to show young people that the magic of our great game is not limited to the field of play. As you will see in the pages that follow, MLB and its Clubs will always strive to make the most of the exceptional moments that we collectively share. Sincerely, Robert D. Manfred, Jr. Commissioner 245 Park Avenue, 31st Floor, New York, NY 10167 (212) 931-7800 LEGENDS Jackie Robinson Day Major League Baseball commemorated the 70th anniversary of the legendary Hall of Famer breaking baseball’s color barrier in 1947 with all players and on-field personnel again wearing Number 42. 2021 swb railriders 2021 swb railriders triple-a information On February 12, 2021, Major League Baseball announced its new plan for affiliated baseball, with 120 Minor League clubs officially agreeing to join the new Professional Development League (PDL). In total, the new player development system includes 179 teams across 17 leagues in 43 states and four provinces. Including the AZL and GCL, there are 209 teams across 19 leagues in 44 states and four provinces. That includes the 150 teams in the PDL and AZL/GCL along with the four partner leagues: the American Association, Atlantic League, Frontier League and Pioneer League. The long-time Triple-A structure of the International and Pacific Coast Leagues have been replaced by Triple-A East and Triple-A West. Triple-A East consists on 20 teams; all 14 from the International League, plus teams moving from the Pacific Coast League, the Southern League and the independent Atlantic League. Triple-A West is comprised of nine Pacific Coast League teams and one addition from the Atlantic League. These changes were made to help reduce travel and allow Major League teams to have their affiliates, in most cases, within 200 miles of the parent club (or play at their Spring Training facilities). triple-a clubs & affiliates midwest northeast southeast e Columbus (Cleveland Indians) Buffalo (Toronto Blue Jays) Charlotte (Chicago White Sox) Indianapolis (Pittsburgh Pirates) Lehigh Valley (Philadelphia Phillies) Durham (Tampa Bay Rays) a Iowa (Chicago Cubs) Rochester (Washington Nationals) Gwinnett (Atlanta Braves) s Louisville (Cincinnati Reds) Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre (New York Yankees) Jacksonville (Miami Marlins) Omaha (Kansas City Royals) Syracuse (New York Mets) Memphis (St.
