Jason A. Barr, DO Program Director

Dr. Jason Barr received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at , Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. His internal medicine internship was completed at Reading Hospital and Medical Center, Reading, Pennsylvania. Dr. Barr completed his dermatology residency at Arizona Desert Dermatology Midwestern University in Kingman, Arizona. Dr. Barr is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology. Professional memberships include the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Medical Association.

Mitchell Manway, MD Associate Program Director

Dr. Manway received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Penn State University in University Park, Pennsylvania, and earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. After graduation, he completed a traditional internship at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, and then spent a year as a dermatology research fellow at the Center for Clinical and Cosmetic Research in Aventura, Florida. In July 2016, Dr. Manway joined Affiliated Dermatology and subsequently completed a one-year clinical research fellowship. Following the fellowship, he completed his medical and surgical dermatology residency training with the HonorHealth Dermatology Residency Program in 2020. Dr. Manway is an active member of the American Medical Association and the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.

Christine C. Lin, MD Chief of Staff

Dr. Christine Lin obtained her undergraduate degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School Of Medicine. Her internship in internal medicine was completed at the UCLA-San Fernando Valley Program in Sylmar, California. Dr. Lin completed her dermatology residency at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals of Cleveland. She served as the chief resident in Dermatology at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals of Cleveland. Dr. Lin is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Professional memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Mohs Surgery, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

Brooke Blumetti, DO Director of Medical Education

Dr. Brooke Blumetti received her undergraduate degree in biology at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. Dr. Blumetti’s medical degree was granted by Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. Dr. Blumetti completed her traditional rotating internship at University Hospitals Richmond Medical Center in Richmond Heights, Ohio. She completed her dermatology residency at Michigan State University Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. Dr. Blumetti is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology. Professional memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the Women’s Dermatologic Society.

Andrew Newman, DO Director of Clinical Education

Dr. Newman is a general dermatologist and Mohs surgeon at Affiliated Dermatology. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Physiology from California State University, Long Beach. Dr. Newman then studied pharmaceuticals at the University of Southern California prior to completing his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Touro University California. He then trained at Mclaren-Oakland Hospital in Michigan where he completed his medical internship. Dr. Newman completed his medical and surgical dermatology residency training with the HonorHealth Dermatology Residency Program, where he served as the chief resident. When asked why he chose to be a Dermatologist, Dr. Newman replied, “Dermatology is the most fascinating of medical specialties to me. Also, I love that I can care for children, teenagers, and adults. I also enjoy dermatology because I am able to manage skin cancer, which is an especially common problem for the people of Arizona. In addition to caring for his patients, he enjoys making music on guitar and piano, golfing, and hiking with his wife and dogs.

Yebabe M. Mengesha, MD Dermatopathology, Medical & Surgical Dermatology

Dr. Yebabe Mengesha received his medical degree from the University of Arizona - College of Medicine, Tucson, Arizona. He completed a transitional internship at Banner Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, and his dermatology residency at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He also completed a dermatopathology fellowship with Bernard Ackerman, M.D., at Columbia University St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center, New York, New York. Dr. Mengesha is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Pathology. Professional memberships include the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Dermatology, the International Society of Dermatopathology, and the American Society of Dermatopathology.

Travis S. Lam, DO Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Medical & Surgical Dermatology

Dr. Travis Lam received his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia, as well as a master’s degree in biomedical science at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Lam’s medical degree was granted by Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Lam completed his traditional internship at University Hospitals Richmond Medical Center in Richmond Heights, Ohio. He completed his dermatology residency at University Hospitals Case Western Reserve Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Lam is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology. Professional memberships include the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dustin Mullens, DO Medical Dermatology

Dr. Dustin Mullens began his residency training at Affiliated Dermatology in July of 2016. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC. Dr. Mullens received his doctorate degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine- Carolinas Campus. Following graduation, Dr. Mullens completed his internship training at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital in Athens, OH. His professional memberships include the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and Sigma Sigma Phi . Dr. Mullens completed his dermatology residency with HonorHealth in July 2019 and served as chief resident during his final year.

Sarah I. Estrada, MD Laboratory Director & Dermatopathologist

Dr. Estrada is a full-time dermatopathologist. Dr. Estrada received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine where she graduated as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed an Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency and served as Chief Resident at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. She completed a Dermatopathology Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr. Estrada is board certified in Dermatopathology, Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Department of Pathology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Clinical Education at Midwestern University. She also acts as a consultant pathologist for companies involved with pharmaceutical clinical trials as well as melanoma gene expression profiling. Her professional memberships include the American Medical Association, the American Society of Dermatopathology, the International Society of Dermatopathology, the College of American Pathologists and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Michael A. Casey, MD, FCAP Dermatopathologist

Dr. Casey was born and raised in St. Louis, MO where his mother was unfortunately diagnosed with breast cancer which inspired him to consider a career in medicine. He graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, majoring in biomedical engineering with a minor in biology. He went on to earn his MD from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he developed an interest in pathology. Having been fortunate enough to complete an elective rotation in Dermatopathology as a medical student, he decided to work towards sub-specialization in skin pathology. It was the visual nature of pathology combined with the ability to play a role in fighting cancer which attracted Dr. Casey to pathology.

Following the residency match, Dr. Casey moved to New York City to join the anatomic and clinical pathology residency program at NYU Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital. He then accepted a dermatopathology fellowship position at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx where he trained at Montefiore Medical Center, Jacobi Hospital, and Dermpath Diagnostics – New York. Dr. Casey is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and in dermatopathology.

Dr. Casey is excited to live in a climate where pools stay open all year long and is looking forward to exploring the hiking and natural beauty that we are blessed to be surrounded by here in the desert!
