For instance, the allocation of health and social care funding, housing, roads, water and sewerage and the provision and maintenance of schools have all distinctive aspects in urban and rural areas. Employment for urban and rural population has different features as well. In Albania, as in most other countries, it is difficult to distinguish exactly the urban population from the rural one. Even though not always reflecting what is certainly urban or rural, in Albania, the administrative definition based on the law is used also for statistical purposes. However, the present availability of small-area data derived from the 2011 population and housing census covering the entire territory of the country, has made possible an attempt to introduce also in Albania new definitions and classifications of urban and rural areas for statistical purposes. -

Hartimi dhe zbatimi i një sistemi të qëndrueshëm të menaxhimit të mbetjeve, mund të realizohet me sukses vetëm kur institucionet publike të tilla si administrata vendore bashkiake, dhe organe të dekoncentruara si ajo e arsimit, shëndetësisë, mjedisit, apo grupe të shoqërisë civile, qendrat tregtare dhe industriale dhe institucione të tjera të përfshira në këtë proces, janë të vetëdijshëm për përgjegjësitë e tyre dhe kanë vullnetin dhe mjetet e duhura për t`i përmbushur ato. Në bashkinë Kuçovë shërbimi i grumbullimit transportimit dhe përpunimit në vend-depozitim kryhet me sipërmarrje nga Shoqëria “Higjena” sh.p.k me administrator Z. Vasillaq Golemi, fitues i tenderit të zhvilluar më datë 30.05.2011, me një afat kohor 5 vjeçar. Midis bashkisë dhe shoqërisë sipërmarrëse "Higjiena" shpk Kuçovë është lidhur edhe një kontratë shtesë me afat 1 vit e cila përfundon në datën 27.06.2017. Buxheti i shërbimit të pastrimit për këtë afat kohor është vendosur në shumën 32,009,320 lekë (afërsisht 50% më shumë se më parë) edhe pse harta e re territoriale e bashkisë aktuale përfshin sipërfaqe shumë më të madhe shërbimi dhe numër më të madh familjesh. -

ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF ALBANIA SEISMICITY, SEISMOTECTONICS AND SEISMIC HAZARD ASSESSMENT IN ALBANIA Shyqyri Aliaj*) Siasi Koçiu Betim Muço Eduard Sulstarova Tiranë, 2010 *) The authors' names are listed in alphabetical order 1 EXTENDED SUMMARY IN ENGLISH FIRST PART: SEISMICITY AND SEISMOTECTONICS OF ALBANIA PREFACE More than forty years seismological studies in Albania have produced a huge material where are uninterruptedly recorded underground tremors of this country, documented and archived seismograms, collected information on felt and damaged earthquakes, carried out expeditions on active tectonic faults, investigated seismicity and seismotectonics , studied the characteristics of tremors and crust of Albania as well as evaluated and assessed the seismic hazard which is very important for building up of dwelling places and infrastructure of a country where earthquakes have a lot damage in the past and expected also to damage in the future. All these studies have a great value on the mitigation of earthquake effects and on reducing the damages these demoniac phenomena are able to cause. -
