IEICI promotes Israeli goods and services exports, and trade relations, cooperation and strategic alliances with overseas companies. IEICI provides services to thousands of Israeli exporters. IEICI promotes exports through international initiatives and unique programs in many countries, operating through official representatives of Israel – commercial and economic attachés - as well as local business development representatives. IEICI maintains working relations with foreign diplomats and commercial attachés stationed in Israel, and international trade organizations throughout the world. IEICI provides information and consulting services, offering extensive connections and assistance in promoting exports of Israeli companies as well as complementary services for the international business community. IEICI initiates and organizes incoming and outgoing commercial delegations. He was formerly Director of the Center for International Agricultural Development Cooperation, a unit of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and, as Agriculture Attaché of Israel’s Mission to the EU, was senior partner in the negotiations leading to the agricultural trade agreement between Israel and the European Communities. He also represented Israel at World Trade Organization discussions in Geneva, and as the official representative of Israel to the OECD Committee for Agriculture. Earlier, Ofer Sachs headed the Aquaculture Division of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. - 8 - Israel Business Delegation to Africa Heads of Business Organizations Mr. Eli Avidar Eli Avidar is the president of the Israel-Africa Chamber of Commerce since 2012, after serving as a member of the board for 4 years. An Africa specialist who maintains good ties with several African leaders as well as extensive know how in the political seen of London, Washington, Beijing and their influence on Africa. He is the Managing Director of the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) Group of Companies, who has had a productive career in Israel’s Intelligence Force as well in Israel's Foreign Service, in the course of which he has gained an extensive knowledge of three major regions: the USA, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. In 2012 he was called to join the Gertler Group and was appointed as CEO of Azura Consulting that provides management services to the group. The group has major mining assets in the Democratic Republic of Congo and interests in other African countries. He is a member of the board and the presidential council of the World Jewelry Federation – CIBJO. - 9 - Heads of Business Organizations Israel Business Delegation to Africa Mr. Amir Shani Amir was born in Tel-Aviv (1955) to the late co-founder of the Amit Group: A. Shani. He joined the Amit Group at 1977 and worked his way up through every professional position there. He did an apprenticeship at Panalpina World Transport (1979) and graduated the Lahav Program for Management Marketing & Advertising in Tel-Aviv University (1984). That brought him forward to the management position. He is both a licensed Customs Broker and a licensed Forwarder in Israel. After the death of his father A. Shani, the co-founder of the Amit Group, he became the Group Co-Manager Director (1986). He is the representative for the Group in the other diverse areas. He sits as a Board Director or Shareholders Representative or Managing Director on all related company divisions including – General Cargo, Insurance, Courier Express, Software Development, Outbound Air and Sea Consolidation, Shipping Line Agreements, and Real Estate & Property Development. Alongside his position as Group Co-Managing Director of Amit group Customs Clearers & Transporters, Vice President Tel Aviv Chamber of Commerce, Chairman Israeli Federation Of International Freight Forwarders & Customs Clearing Agents (IFFCCA).
