It was with great sadness that we heard of the passing of John Belgrave who managed the Petroleum Land and Accounting programs at SAIT. As well as managing two very successful programs, he was a mentor and friend to many students: well respected by all. While in school, we heard rumors that an association for land administrators was starting up at the grass roots level and within 5 years the Canadian Association of Petroleum Land Administration was born. The courses offered by CAPLA advance our land knowledge and volunteering for committees allows us to network and interact with fellow administrators. It has provided an excellent opportunity to further our commitment to our careers. After 12 years in the industry, I can still say that Land Admin was the right career choice then and still is now!
