CEO’S MESSAGE (Mr Bay with the award winners) Time flies! We are now in the third quarter of 2018. In the second half of the year, we will see some exciting events and activities lined up on the calendar. While we prepare to meet the new challenges ahead, I am happy to share some of the events that have taken place in the past few months across PCF. Water is a precious resource, more so in Singapore, where we have to buy water from Malaysia. To engage the community to spread awareness on water conservation, PCF Sparkletots @ Kebun Baru Blk 172 and over 16 PCF Sparkletots preschools from our North East District Group 3 took part in two major Singapore World Water Day events in March. These also helped our children to understand the importance of water in our daily lives. PCF’s Community of Practice was launched on 13 April as an additional platform for learning to deepen the capabilities of our educators. Our Sparkletots preschool leaders and teachers can look forward to workshops and sharing sessions on enhancing their English language proficiency, Pedagogy and Classroom Management, Parent Engagement as well as sharpening their skills in delivering the PCF Sparkletots Early Years Curriculum. Another matter close to our heart is the Racial Harmony that we enjoy in multi-racial Singapore. In this issue, we have prepared some craft work that you can do with your child as we celebrate our diversity. You can also enjoy the time and effort put in during the craftwork by practising the skills of relating well with your children. Flip to the article on how to build a secure and loving relationship with them in this issue. With National Day around the corner, we are delighted to be invited once again to form a marching contingent this year. A total of 36 employees have been selected from both the People’s Action Party (PAP) and PAP Community Foundation (PCF) to form the contingent parade. You can read more about their experience inside. I shall leave you to enjoy the reading of the other articles within this issue. Cheers!
