Military became my career choice at first, but after my dad had shared his experiences and with his encouragement, I chose to go to college. However, I really didn't know what I wanted to do until I applied for a teaching scholarship that was offered at the University of Guam. The basis of my essay application on "Why I wanted to Become a Teacher" was outlined as Working to Help the Youth. I was fortunate to receive a full ride with books and tuition paid for, thus setting the path for me to become an educator. With my studies and experiences as a Health and Physical Education teacher, I found that it allowed me to reach students in a variety of ways that in turn has made my life very rewarding as I watched students and athletes appreciate and grow into productive citizens.
