Arts Award It has been another successful year for our students working towards their Arts Award certificates. Three students in Year 11 have been working towards their Bronze Award and their portfolios are ready to be sent off for moderation this week. As part of this award they have worked on art skills, watched plays and visited the Sainsbury Centre Art Gallery as well as researching an arts inspiration and sharing one of the art skills they have experienced. The PFS team Arts Award Term Dates - On Wednesday 20th July Year 6 presented the work they have completed as part of the Discover Pupils break up for the Summer holidays on Thursday 21st July. They return in September on Monday 5th. award. Parents were invited in to see the work the children had created and to see each of them presented with a certificate from Trinity Guild on achieving their award. The children have worked on various art pro- Attendance- jects; their favourites being, designing a pattern for a mug, putting a design on to a T shirt and painting in the style of George Seurat. A big well done to the following pupils who attained 95% to 100% attendance during the Summer 2 term! On Friday 15th July Year 5 went along to Schools day at Latitude in prepara- tion for them working towards the Discover award next year. Year 5 travelled to Henham Park and were greeted by the organisers who lead them through the woods to the Family arena. Another event to celebrate is Conor (8R) winning a Highly Commended Award for a poem he wrote about Lowestoft in the Rotary Club of Lowestoft East Point Young Writer Competition. Well done Conor; this award is richly deserved. Music Mrs Redrup On Friday 1st July a small group of pupils went along to the Marina Theatre to watch the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra rehearse for their evenings performance.
