Live comedy isn’t viewed as being equal to other art forms by funding bodies across the UK — the same funding bodies responsible for distributing this week's £1.57 billion support package. This is despite comedy being a grassroots creative industry, which is accessible and inclusive to all, no matter your income, where you live, or your sense of humour. Ticket prices are cheaper than almost any other artform, and comedy takes place in every nation and region of the country, in dedicated spaces but also in pubs, music venues, and theatres in every town and city. We believe that comedy is art and should be treated as such. As fans, audience members, and those who work in live comedy, we therefore ask: 1.

  • July Newsletter
NEWSLETTER – Issue 38 – July 2021 INTRODUCTION Hi everyone, Welcome to the latest Junior Blues newsletter and to the start of a new season in the Vanarama National League, where we find ourselves this season. It should be an exciting time, visiting many Clubs we’ve not been to before, and renewing old friendships with Clubs like Stockport, Torquay, Notts County, Wrexham and Yeovil who we’ve played many times in the past. Phil Brown is still in charge as Manager at the Club and he’s brought in a number of new players already, so it’s a warm welcome to new goalkeeper, Steve Arnold; defender Josh Coulson; midfielders James Dunne and Abu Ogogo; strikers Rhys Murphy and Sam Dalby, and a big welcome back to midfielder Jack Bridge. We’re also delighted to hear that Jason Demetriou, Shaun Hobson and Nathan Ralph are to remain with us too. We’ve said “goodbye” to goalkeeper Mark Oxley, who has joined Harrogate Town, to Tim Dieng, who has joined Exeter City and Harry Lennon, who has gone to Wrexham. Our popular “Meet the Blues Day” is back this year, and will be taking place at Boots & Laces on Sunday, 15th August, starting at 10.30 am. There are activities going on all day, and you’ll get the chance to meet the new players as well as old favourites. Because of what has gone on over the last 18 months or so with Covid restrictions, we’ve decided that at Meet the Blues Day, we will be re-launching our Junior Blues scheme, and starting over with some new partners and offers for you all.
