With new programs in outdoor adventure and STEM and the promise of dozens of new skills to learn and awards to earn, at Girl Scouts, the trail is hers to blaze! April 1-May 31, 2019 All girls and adults who renew will receive a free patch. Super Bonus Bucks Troop Incentive (April 1 – May 31, 2019) All troops who renew 80% or more of their girls and 2 co-leaders will be entered into a drawing for a cash prize of $50 for the troop! Three troops will Honor and Golden Honor Application win. is now online! Deadline is August 1st! Super Bonus Bucks Service Unit Incentive This form is used for troops that achieve (April 1 – May 31, 2019) the Essential Elements of a Girl Scout All Service Units that renew 30% of all girls and Troop, and provide overall excellence in adults (based on 2020 goals) will receive a cash troop management and programming in a prize of $50 for the Service Unit and a Party in a given year. To achieve this honor, leaders box! We encourage you to take the following actions to ensure your graduate stays up to date on all things Girl Scouts: 1. Sign her up as a Girl Scout alum so she can stay connected to the Movement 2. Purchase a lifetime membership for her. As a recent graduate, she'll enjoy a special Young Alum rate of $200 (regularly priced at $400). Check out the events calendar for full details and the program guide for anytime programs available! Keeping Up with Dance Studio Anytime program; call to schedule your time and date! Program Title: Girl Scout Dance & Fitness Badge Workshops; Age Level: K-12 What: Each class is one hour long including a 10 minute break. Each class will focus on dance while meeting the specific requirements for some badges. Max 15 girls. Badges: Brownie Dancer, Junior Staying Fit, Cadette Good Sportsmanship. Join thousands of girls in hundreds of state parks across the United States to find adventure, explore nature, and learn what Girl Scouts is all about! • Almost Full Moon Hike at Shades State Park Jul 13, 10 PM-11 PM, meet at Hickory Parking Lot Explore Shades with a Naturalist guided hike of Trail 5 and then 4. Hike will traverse Kintz Ravine, and will be ~1 mile in length. • Discover Bugs at Fort Harrison State Park Jul 13, 10 AM-12 PM, meet at Fort Harrison State Park Visitor's Center Earn the Brownie Bug Badge with a bug expert and join the fun of hiking the trails, exploring bug homes, and seeing bugs in action! • Geology Hike at Turkey Run State Park Jul 13, 10 AM-11 AM, meet at Turkey Run's Nature Center Explore the unique caverns and ravines of Turkey Run, discover ancient sea animal fossils, or crinoids, and take a visit to the punchbowl! • Immersive Wildlife Experience at McCormick’s Creek Nature Center Jul 13, 1 PM-4 PM, meet at McCormick's Creek Nature Center Meet resident reptiles and amphibians, explore a cave within the park, and lend a helping hand to the plants and animals that live here. • Lincoln State Park Neighborhood Walk and Tour Jul 13, 12 PM and Jul 14, 12 PM Take a Girl Scouts tour of Abraham Lincoln hotspots and make corn husk dolls! • Patoka Lake Programs Jul 13-14, 2019; call to schedule your troop! Celebrate Girl Scouts Love State Parks with Patoka Lake on July 13 and 14! Archery lessons are available this special weekend as well as the youth campground area, perfect for Troop Camping! May 24, 2019 Outdoor Program & Camp Resident Camp Sessions: Last Day to Register is Friday, June 7!! Are you ready for another action-packed summer at Camp Koch? Check out our 2019 flyer for new camp adventures you do not want to miss. Bring your friends along on kayaking trips, campfire nights, swims in the beautiful lake, and more activities at Camp Koch. A Few Camp Koch Adventures to Choose From: • Resident Camp Sessions start Sunday, June 23 and run until Tuesday, July 2! Deadline to register is Friday, June 7! See the attached flyer above for all camp sessions! • Family Camp Overnight, June 28-29 Girls will enjoy showing family members around camp if they have been at camp for a summer session already or experience an overnight at camp for the first time with the security of family nearby. Siblings attending will need to be toilet trained. If you prefer not to stay the night, just come for the day on Saturday June 29th! • Troop Survivor Camporee, July 13-14 This is a great opportunity for troops that have not been to Camp Koch before or for troops that would like more experience in camping! At the Troop Camporee, you will have the opportunity to check out all that Camp Koch has to offer. Troop leaders will have the opportunity get Troop Camp certified. While participating in these activities, you will get the training you need for certification, so you can take your girls on more camping experiences! Day Camp Experiences: • Vanderburgh/Posey Day Camp, July 8-Jul 11; 9am-4pm All Vanderburgh/Posey Girl Scouts entering 1st-8th grades in fall 2019 are invited to join us for archery, water games, crafts, and more! Leaders, parents, and friends of Girl Scouting are encouraged to volunteer! • Deadline to mail-in registration is June 21st.
