Saturday June 30 8:00pm – 10:30pm ’s Engine Room – Blues/Classic Rock http://barrygoudreausengineroom.com/

Guitar Legend and Swampscott resident Barry Goudreau (formerly of Boston) started his journey to stardom like most kids from the 60’s, listening to the radio. After hearing the sounds of Elvis and Roy Orbison, Barry asked his parents for a guitar and though they thought it was just a phase, to Barry, that ’62 Strat was the beginning of a dream fulfilled. From those early years to meeting lifelong friends (and former Boston bandmates), singer , drummer Sib Hashin and bassist , Goudreau’s path lead to placing an ad in the Boston Phoenix for a keyboard player. Answering that ad, was a recent MIT Master’s Program grad and the rest, as they say, is history…

After worldwide mega-success and a “Behind The Music” like story, Barry founded several bands and produced others musicians, along with his signature sound solo work. During these years, Barry met two of the regions’ very best players, keyboardist/writer/producer/arranger and bass monster, Tim Archibald.

Recently, as Barry looked to get back to his “blues roots”, he reconnect with Brian and Timmy along with local drummer, (Old) Tony DiPetro to form Barry Goudreau’s Engine Room.

Barry Goudreau’s Engine Room is fueled by best of the best on the local music scene;

Brian Maes, keyboardist/writer/arranger/producer, was a local prodigy studying, playing and performing in his teens, then matriculated through Berklee College of Music, graduating in 1979. After extensive worldwide performing and touring, Maes began his long-standing relationship with Barry Goudreau in 1984, when he was hired as keyboard player and backing vocalist for Barry’s band” Orion the Hunter”. The band toured as the opening act for on the "Back in the Saddle". After disbanding a year later, Maes and Goudreau made the decision to stay together and work on new material. In the following 20+ years, Maes wrote, arranged and produced his own solo material (13 Albums) and with a wide variety of bands and artists including; Peter Wolf of the J. Giles Band. Brian rejoined Barry and former Boston singer Brad Delp, to form RTZ (Return To Zero), penning their charting hit, “Till Your Love comes Back Around.”

Maes recently co-wrote a rock opera with George D. Simpson, "The Devil And Billy Shake" in which he currently stars and directs.

(Old) Tony DePietro has been performing and recording as a drummer for almost 25 years. Tony has worked with many local artists including Pistacio, Irontail and Mary Beth Maes. He helped Mary Lou Lord support her "Got No Shadow" release and,toured with her the United States, making appearances on television and several music festivals. For over 15 years now, Tony has been performing and recording with Brian Maes and the Brian Maes Band.

Tim Archibald, the Bass Monster, has been playing since he could crawl. As a rocker from Cleveland, Ohio (Hello Cleveland!), Archibald moved to Boston in 1976 where he attended Berklee College for 4 years playing with performers Ralph Moore, Kevin Eubanks (Tonight Show), Mike Stearn, Bruce Bartlett and Randy Roos on the local scene. After forming his own band Urge, he also played for 3 years with Fly By Night as a jazz migrant worker touring the south and the east with as well as with Groove Holmes, Dobie Gray, Dizzy Gillespie and others. Tim played with John Butcher in 1984 on Capitol records, and was a member of local sensation band New Man, signed to Epic records in 1985. Tim then joined Barry, Brad Delp and Brian in the band RTZ. Folowing RTZ, Tim joined in Peter Wolf’s House Party Five for the next 6 years, He’s been working regularly with Brian Maes since the eighties. Tim endorses LaBella Strings, Harkte amps and Pedulla basses. Tonight, Barry Goudreau’s Engine Room also features killer backing vocalists Mary Beth Maes, Terri O’Soro and Joanie Brown Cicatelli …
