On the Ball Page 2 New Club Uniform As was announced in the September Issue of ‘On the ball’ the design of our new uniform has been chosen. We wish to confirm ‘Fitting Days’ will be held at the Duncan McKinnon Courts on Saturday 15/11/08 and Saturday 06/12/08 between 9-11:30am. Players need to attend one of these days to ensure a uniform is ordered for the 2009 season. A deposit of $50 is to be paid at the time of the fitting and remaining $50 to be paid at time of collection in February 2009. Dresses will not be provided to players unless full payment has been received at time of col- lection. Sponsorship Opportunity The Club is looking for a sponsor for our new ‘bibs/patches’. If you are aware of a company/store that would be interested in having their business promoted by teams contact Leanne Thomas on 0411 536984. Club Logo Winner Congratulations to Tom Oliver who designed the winning entry for the Club Logo Competition. The CSNC Com- mittee wishes to thank all members who entered the competition. The 12 entries received were considered at the September Committee meeting and the following design by Tom will be used on all our future communica- tion/promotional material. CSNC Family Fun Day The Fundraising Committee is gearing up for the Family Day on Sunday 16th November, 2008. Remember to put this date in diary! The game im- provement from the girls being the main highlight. They have had a mixed bag of wins and losses, but are gaining a lot from each game. The inau- gural ANL competition began on 2 August 2008, and will be an important step in the development pathway to- ward playing at ANZ Championship and international levels. The ANL was held over six weekends plus a finals weekend and each state and territory across the country was represented in the 10-team competition, with teams often playing two or three matches in a weekend. The squad trained together under Carol Byers (Melbourne Vixens Assistant Coach) since January. The Fury trained alongside the Melbourne Vixens and consists of athletes who played with the Melbourne Kestrels and Melbourne Phoenix squads in 2007, or were identified at a national level. The Fury won all their matches to make it to the Grand Final. The Fury won beating the AIS 56-41 to record a perfect 11 wins from 11 matches in the inaugural ANL competition . Australian Netball Diamonds Netball Australia recently launched the new brand for the highly successful national team - the Australian Netball Diamonds . The Diamonds were defeated by New Zealand (Silver Ferns) 31-38 in the second test in Auckland on 20th September, 2008.
