WEEKLY “NOTES & NUGGETS” FROM THE PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME HOF PRODUCTIONS DEBUTS NEW VIDEO PODCAST: “THE MISSION”; FROM THE ARCHIVES: ALL-TIME FINALISTS; #HUDDLEUPAMERICA

CANTON, OHIO – The following is a sampling of events, happenings and notes that highlight how the Pro Football Hall of Fame serves its important mission to “Honor the Heroes of the Game, Preserve its History, Promote its Values & Celebrate Excellence EVERYWHERE!”

“THE MISSION” The Pro Football Hall of Fame recently launched a new video podcast, “The Mission.” Created by the Hall’s Executive Producer George Veras and hosted by Jamir Howerton, the weekly podcast dives deep into the history of the Game and bring fans unique stories from the Hall’s Archives.

“Everything we do at the Pro Football Hall of Fame follows our Mission to ‘Honor the Heroes of the Game, Preserve its History, Promote its Values, and Celebrate Excellence EVERYWHERE.’ This podcast is a logical extension of one of the most revered brands in all of sports,” Veras stated.

Howerton recently hosted CBS Sports Network’s “Football Dreams Destination Canton” and served as the play-by-play announcer for the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame World Youth Football Championships. Previously, he served as the sideline reporter for the Cleveland Browns and the team reporter for the New York Jets during his 20-plus years in the .

The first seven episodes of “The Mission” explore the Hall’s Selection Process, the preservation of pro football’s rich history and a look into how Hall of Famers shine the light on others. As LIII is on the horizon, the newest episodes of “The Mission” include sit downs with Super Bowl Producer Jim Rikhoff and Super Bowl Director Mike Arnold. Viewers will experience an insider’s seat within the television truck on how the game will be presented with over 70 cameras and 50 video tape machines. This is Arnold’s fifth Super Bowl directing assignment and Rikhoff’s first.

#HUDDLEUPAMERICA The Pro Football Hall of Fame and RISE (Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality) have invited 100 students from Humphries Elementary School in Atlanta to the Super Bowl Experience Driven by Hyundai, uniting them with Pro Football Hall of Famer ANTHONY MUÑOZ and local law enforcement officers to play and learn together at a #HuddleUpAmerica event. The students, officers and Muñoz will engage in activities on leadership and community building, followed by non-contact football drills on Monday, Jan. 28 at 1 pm ET. They will also visit RISE’s Champions of Change interactive fan experience to explore the history of sports and social justice and create unique self- portraits that highlight how they can be champions of change in their own communities.

RISE is a national nonprofit that educates and empowers the sports community to eliminate racial discrimination, champion social justice and improve race relations. Through partnerships and programs, RISE inspires leaders in sports to create positive change on matters of race and equality. In partnership with RISE, the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s #HuddleUpAmerica campaign (www.profootballhof.com/Huddle-Up-America/) was launched in 2017 with a focus on uniting people and applying important values learned from the game of football to everyday life.

FROM THE RALPH WILSON, JR. PRO FOOTBALL RESEARCH & PRESERVATION CENTER: The Ralph Wilson, Jr. Pro Football Research & Preservation Center is home to the world’s largest collection on football including a personal legacy archive on every player who has competed in the NFL since its founding in 1920. Contained inside the archives are more than 40 million pages of documents and six million photographic images.

Staff help a variety of patrons from fans, researchers, authors, and students as well as serving as a resource of information to the National Football League, its 32 clubs and members of the media.
