Thank you to my fellow student “cohort” who made the last two years fun and interesting. Immense thanks goes to my maternal grandparents, Richard and Frances Rimat, who despite their passing, made my education possible, and to my parents for always stressing the importance of education.

Enhanced Fiction: A Worthwhile Endeavour? Abstract: Since the iPad was released in 2010, authors and publishers have been presented with the conundrum of how best to take advantage of the enormous popularity of tablet computers and to ensure that their publications are consumed on them. Aside from releasing standard electronic books through dedicated online stores for consumption on book-reading apps, authors and publishers have also sought to develop products that supplement core text with multimedia content, thereby utilising the multifunctional power of tablets. These products are called enhanced electronic books. The concept of an enhanced electronic book is not new, with varying degrees of success achieved with titles released on CD-ROM in the 1990s. However, tablet computers offer levels of portability and ergonomics previously unseen in personal computing devices, such that modern enhanced books are considered a brand new proposition.

Perinteisten kirjojen kannattajat leimataan usein yhteiskunnan teknologisen kehityksen jarrumiehiksi. • Slow Fishing Italy 31AU18
SLOW FISHING THE FRESH WATERS OF ITALY MICHAEL LAWRENCE SENA COPYRIGHTED, 2017 BY GREEN HORSE PUBLISHING COMPANY VADSTENA, SWEDEN OCTOBER 2017 Slow Fishing The Fresh Waters of Italy Page 1 Dedication This book is dedicated to all my mentors who have helped me choose the paths I have walked and the rivers I have fished. Slow Fishing The Fresh Waters of Italy Page 2 Prologue Fly fishing lore is filled with stories about chalk streams in England and Pennsylvania, freestone brooks in Vermont, salmon rivers in Norway and Iceland, brown trout waters in New Zealand and wild rainbow streams in Montana. The literature is not populated with tales of catching trophy trout and grayling in the rivers and streams of Italy. I had never heard of it before I happened to be in Italy on the 25th of March 2011, when suddenly I had a lot of time on my hands, and, as fate would have it, I met someone old enough to be my father who knew a thing or two about catching fish with a fly. He was also knowledgeable about food, architecture, politics and personal relationships, all subjects to which I had not given much thought during my thirty-one years, spent mostly in Sweden. That was five years ago. Fishing for me back then was the only way I could take my thoughts away from what had happened thirteen years earlier. I blamed myself for the deaths of my parents and nothing anyone could say could convince me otherwise. I wanted them back. I knew it wasn’t possible, but that fact did not stop me from wishing.

The staff of Literary Arts were asked to write about their work under three headings: 1. Landscape: This is an assessment of the current operating environment relevant to their work. 2. Current Platform: This is an assessment of the relevant program or function as it operates today. 3. Next Evolution: This is a general description of how the relevant program or function will evolve over the next three years. This assessment forms the basis for the framework and gives our community members a chance to take a deeper look at specific programs and functions of Literary Arts. 3 PORTLAND ARTS & LECTURES AND SPECIAL EVENTS1 Landscape There have been relatively few changes in the presenting landscape of Portland since our last assessment. There are still many lecture series in the city, including the WorldOregon (formerly the World Affairs Council of Oregon), the Linus Pauling Memorial Lectures, the Voices Lecture Series, the Mark O.
