But Mendocino County also offers pets a train ride on the Skunk Train, a romp through the flowers at the Botanical Gardens, a canoe or kayak ride, or a whale watching cruise. There is a “haul of Ten Mile River Bridge road” (paved path) paralleling the ocean for much of the length of the Van Damme State Beach park, and it is a perfect place to take (ON LEASH) your dog for a scenic stroll. Some of the Across from Van Damme beaches in MacKerricher are home to State Park, Little River the endangered Snowy Plover (a small bird) and are off-limits to all dogs (even on leash).
