FOTONNA Emergency Response Plan --- Red Alert! --- Petition Response 05/27/2014 (Rabbi Dr.) Susan Einbinder 05/21/2014 (The Rev.) Gary E 1 May 20 — June 4, 2014 --- FOTONNA Emergency Response Plan --- Red Alert! --- Petition Response 05/27/2014 (Rabbi Dr.) Susan Einbinder 05/21/2014 (The Rev.) Gary E. End the occupation now! Doupe 05/25/2014 A. Greg Danielson In march 2011 I joined 15 Muslims and Christians to plant olive trees at the Tent of Nations. I realized they wouldn't bear fruit for 5-6 years, but that once they started to produce, they would provide olive oil for hundreds of years. I call on you protest the action of the Israeli government and to hold the government accountable to the rule of law 05/21/2014 A. Loikow This kind of devastation is illegal and outrageous and has been going on for years. I'm embarrassed that US Gov't Policy supports Israeli actions like these. 05/21/2014 Aaron Kay Smith This is among the most blatant and profound crimes against humanity we have seen. Anyone who has met Daoud and witnessed his decades of struggle for justice for all concerned regardless of ethnicity is today heartbroken and mourning. He is a follower of the Hebrew prophet Micah: 'What does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?' I do not know what faith tradition guides the Israelis ... 05/23/2014 abbas bolurfrushan When are we going to start to support peace projects? I am devastated by these news. Please use your influence to support justice being served and the Nassar family being reimbursed for the damage done. 05/22/2014 Abby Yanow I urge you to put more pressure on the government of Israel to stop this illegal, inhumane and evil actions against Daher's Vineyard near Bethlehem. The Tent of Nations is a very popular tourist destination for Christians from all around the world. The Nassar family has territorial rights to the land dating back to the Ottoman time. This needless violence must stop. In its own way it akin the present situation in Nigeria, except the pressure by the Israeli Press to cover up such destruction has blinded the world to such cruelty. I pray that something be done to stop this needless destruction. Pastor Obed Nelson 05/24/2014 Abdessalam Diab 05/23/2014 Abdul Hafiz Murthuza resolving this conflict is the key to PEACE in the Middle East 05/23/2014 Abe Qutub Israeli treatment of landowners is not much worse than nazi treatment of them 05/22/2014 Abigail Harms Please begin with one act of human kindness and leave them to their farm. 05/30/2014 Abigail Heimach Justice will be served for all people of faith and nonviolent. 05/22/2014 Abla Nasir Outrageous! 05/27/2014 abu umar bosanwi 05/30/2014 Adam Estle 05/22/2014 Adam Joseph I visited and stayed overnight at the Tent of NATIONS. These people present no threat to Israel and only want to exist. Salisbury 05/22/2014 Adam Lautman 05/21/2014 Adam Sher Please acknowledge and respond to this incident, and the many similar incidents that are ongoing. 05/30/2014 Addison Bross This family deserves to be allowed to live on their land without harassment! 05/22/2014 adela idilbi 05/30/2014 Adela Medlock We Vermonters would be appalled if the government came in and tried to do the same to our farm(s). 05/30/2014 Adrienne Fong 05/21/2014 Agnes O'Hanlon 05/24/2014 Ahmed Sakkal Please act on this horrible situation. 05/23/2014 Ahsen Abbasi 05/30/2014 Aine Daly I am alarmed and saddened by this injustice. The oppression suffered by Jews should have taught Israelis not to be so cruel. 05/27/2014 akın atauz 05/27/2014 Alan Bentz-Letts 2 May 20 — June 4, 2014 --- FOTONNA Emergency Response Plan --- Red Alert! --- Petition Response 05/25/2014 Alan E. Mayers I can see no justification for the destruction of the Nassar family's land and crops. That family may 'refuse to be enemies' but Israel is certainly acts as an enemy of the worst kind - not owning their own illegal destruction. 05/21/2014 Alan Miller The world needs to know what Israel has done. It is despicable that people are being deprived of their livelihood and it is being done intentionally! 05/21/2014 Alan P. Goldstein As an Israel-American, any decision by the Israeli military to violate rights is deplorable. To do so to those Palestinian institutions most dedicated to peace and reconciliation is self-destructive and warrants the intervention of Israel's closest friend and ally. 05/26/2014 Alan Pyeatt The Israeli Army's action against the Tent of Nations Farm and Peace Center is an unconscionable horror against human rights. The Daoud Nasser Family has lived on their farm not only as productive members of society but as generous contributors to peace and outreach to their Muslim neighbors. My fears are great for the demise of democracy within Israel and, for the destruction of this model family and farm. Please respond strongly against this action of the Israeli government against the Nassers and speak and act forcefully for the restoration of the land and trees to the Tent of Nations. REspectfully, Rev. Nancy S. Hildebrand 05/23/2014 Albert asfour 05/24/2014 Albert H. Mayfield 05/25/2014 Aldo iacobelli It is high time Israel joined the civilized nations and behaved according to international law 05/28/2014 alejandro issel 05/22/2014 Alex Bell 05/21/2014 Alex Elias Awad 05/21/2014 Alexander Shaw PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! I have met Daoud Nassar & last Jan. visited the farm. These are people who refuse to use violence to keep what is theirs. They refuse to be enemies of the Israelis. This is shameful & I am outraged. STOP sending my tax dollars to the Israeli government to fund this kind of violence perpetrated against my friends at the Nassar Farm. 05/23/2014 Alfred Donald Cross 05/27/2014 Alfred Gerteiny 05/24/2014 Alice and Richard Leuchtag 05/21/2014 Alice Diane Kisch This action against a law abiding peaceful family is an affront to all justice loving people. Some governmental action by Israel should try to make amends. 05/21/2014 Alice Faryna 05/30/2014 Alice Hickcox Anyone who destroys the property of human rights supporters like the Lassers is aiding unrest and discontent as opposed to partnership and peace for the good of all and the future of Israel. 05/22/2014 Alice Kast I visited this land in January, 2012. I was moved by the persistence of the Nasser family to save family land in a peaceful way. There is no justice here. 05/22/2014 Alice M Justice This cannot be allowed to continue without comment and for the United States to condone these violations of human rights and callous disregard for International Law and the Geneva Convention. 05/22/2014 alice mae graner Please end this atrocious, illegal and unwarranted harassment. 05/22/2014 Alice Rothchild I have followed the story of the Tent of Nations for years and now weep at the viciousness of the Israeli military in violation of the rights of a peaceful and peace pursuing family. This action is worse than harassment. It's brutality. It must be censured and the family orchards restored to productivity. 05/23/2014 Alice Schafer 05/22/2014 Alice Siegfried We recommend immediate action if we believe in JUSTICE 05/29/2014 Alice Vernon 05/27/2014 Alice Zachmann Freedom will not die! Free Palestine!!!!!!! 05/22/2014 Alice Zillah 05/24/2014 Alisa Booze Troetschel 3 May 20 — June 4, 2014 --- FOTONNA Emergency Response Plan --- Red Alert! --- Petition Response 05/23/2014 Alison Hill I visited Tent of Nations in November 2012 and was deeply moved by the Nassar family's commitment to sustainable agriculture, respect for the environment, and commitment to peace and nonviolence. The bulldozing of their orchards and grapevines is an outrage and will appall all persons of conscience across the globe who become aware of it - as many well because of the international campaign underway. I urge the U.S. government to cease military aid to Israel until these attacks on human rights and contravention of international law stop. 05/23/2014 Alison Weir 05/28/2014 Allen L. Wortman The illegal actions toward the confiscation of lands owned by Palestinians must stop. Israel must establish safe and secure borders and live within them. Palestinians must be allowed self-determination and safe and secure borders as well. the violation of international law and human rights standards by all parties must stop. Yours, Mary G Holt 05/21/2014 Allen Roehl Peace in this world requires all of us to do unto others.... 05/22/2014 Alma Manney 05/22/2014 Alta Schwartz 05/22/2014 Alvin Compaan 05/22/2014 amado subh subh Shame on the Israeli government - your actions belie your rhetoric about being a democracy. 05/27/2014 Amanda Chandler 05/22/2014 Amanda Cohen 05/23/2014 Amos Gvirtz 05/23/2014 Amy Alpert 05/28/2014 Amy Ferrara I have friends who's children have gone to Israel/Palestine to live in a settlement. They will receive free housing, job training and a monthly stipend for coming to Israel/Palestine. This to me is immoral. 05/22/2014 Amy K Higgs 05/27/2014 Amy Paige It is a shame that the world has turned a blind eye to the Palestinian plight.

  • Israel-Palestine: for Human Values in the Absence of a Just Peace
Israel-Palestine: For Human Values in the Absence of a Just Peace Israel-Palestine: For Human Values in the Absence of a Just Peace In fulfillment of its assignment from the 221st General Assembly (2014) to review the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s support for the “two-state” solution to the Israeli- Palestinian conflict, the Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy recommends that the 222nd General Assembly (2016) adopt the following summary assessment (I) and requested recommendations (II), and receive the supporting study and policy review (III). These sections together constitute a report with actions appropriate to a situation of moral urgency entitled, Israel-Palestine: For Human Values in the Absence of a Just Peace. The sections are: I. While the Door Closes: A Summary Assessment II. Acting on Christian and Universal Values: Recommendations III. The Two State Approach from a Values Perspective: A Brief Study I. While the Door Closes This report focuses on the actual situation of Palestinians and Israelis in the land they share and on the values that need support from all people seeking a just peace. Faithful to the General Assembly’s assignment, the report resists simple formulas. It understands the responsibility of a single church based in the US to contribute to a larger ecumenical and interfaith conversation about basic moral expectations and to take informed actions of integrity, witness, and solidarity. The Presbyterian Church [PC(USA)] has had a deep concern for Israel-Palestine for many reasons, including its place in Christian self-understanding and the prominent role the United States has taken there.

  • Tent of Nations Background
THE CARTER CENTER Background: The Tent of Nations The Tent of Nations, a family farm and center where “people from many different countries come together to learn, to share, and to build bridges of understanding and hope,” urgently needs support and solidarity from the international community in the wake of the destruction carried out recently on the Nassar family’s land and other escalating threats they have received since the 2019 completion of their land re-registration application. Although the Nassars have owned the land for over 100 years, since the time of the British Mandate, Israel has delayed formal recognition of the farm’s registration and ownership. The farm,1 situated in Area C under exclusive Israeli administrative and security control, is near the village of Nahalin, southwest of Bethlehem in the West Bank. It sits on a hilltop surrounded by several settlements (part of the Gush Etzion bloc). Despite the Nassars’ use and documented ownership of the land, in 1991, the Israeli authorities declared the farm “state land.” Since then, the Nassars have been struggling to prevent its confiscation and damage to farm buildings and crops. They battled the “state land” designation through the Israeli judicial system until 2006, when the Supreme Court ruled that the Nassars may proceed with re-registering their land. But with the re-registration in process, the Israeli army uprooted hundreds fruit trees in 2014 even though the family had appealed the notice from the Israeli Civil Administration. These actions prompted significant international outcry as the Tent of Nations has become a symbol of nonviolent resistance and peacemaking.
