    Otter Street Pond Hockey Nationals Official Tournament Rules Tournament Specifications: 3 on 3 tournament: 4 Guaranteed games between Friday / Saturday o Both divisions are NO CHECK After qualifying rounds, a seeded bracket will be posted o Championship & Consolation brackets are both single elimination 2 – 20 minute run-time halves, with a 5 minute break o Teams will switch ends at halftime o 1st half direction will be determined by pre-game coin toss Goals will be traditional pond hockey goals, not full nets Players are only allowed to register for 1 team, cannot sub for other teams o Substitutions from original roster will be allowed only prior to first game starting on Friday afternoon Prizes are awarded for: o 1st – 3rd in Championship bracket o Consolation Bracket Championship winner There will be an off-ice official & off-ice score keeper for each game It is the team captain’s responsibility to verify correct score is added to the tournament scoring charts / brackets o At the end of each game team captain’s will sign official score sheets to confirm the scoring is correct.     SUTTONS BAY TOWNSHIP POND HOCKEY RULES TEAMS 1. All players must wear helmets and hockey skates. Protective equipment is optional but highly recommended. 2. Players can only play on one team. Minimum number of players on a team is 4, the maximum is 6. Teams must have 4 players at the start of each game. 3. Substitutions must be made by 8:45 AM on the day of tournament play at the Player Information Table. No other substitutions throughout the tournament are allowed. The 4 to 6 players that are on your roster at 8:45 AM on the day of tournament play must be the same players that play on your team throughout the tournament. 4. Teams need to be ready to play at their designated start time; if a team does not have 4 players ready to play, they will be penalized 1 goal for every 2 minutes the game starts late. 5. No goalie equipment or goalie sticks permitted. 6. All teams must have light and dark jerseys or uniforms. GAMES 7. Games will be composed of two 12-minute halves with a 2-minute halftime. 8. All games are running-time and substitutions can be made during play ("on-the-fly") or while a puck is being retrieved. There is no stoppage of play after a goal is scored, or after a penalty is awarded. It is up to each team to ensure that there are only four players on the ice. 9. In the event of a tie during both qualifying and championship games, the play will move to sudden death format.
