The unclassified roads U.48 from Gourlaw Crossroads and the B7003 from its junction with A6094 to its junction with the Penicuik Road, Roslin. Roslin Glen Road will be closed between 12:00-14:00. Advance warning signs will be placed by the organiser on A6094, B7003 and B7026. A vehicle with flashing warning lights will lead the race to alert any oncoming traffic.

Lorna McBreen Approximately 100 participants will carry out a peaceful controlled walk at Granted Shawfair Park & Ride Danderhall. The event is expected to conclude at 1pm.

Justin Woodyer From 11.30am onwards, approximately 20-30 cyclists will assemble within the Granted Penicuik Hunter and Lass car park of Beeslack Community High School, Road. At 12.00pm 16.05.18 Friday 19 May 2018 the group will make its way down onto the Old Railway via Arron House. At Family Fun Cycle approximately 12.45pm the cycle ride will enter onto Valleyfield Road and travel up to its junction with the A701 turning right on to Bridge Street then left on to West Street leading to Bog Road and its junction with the A766 where it will turn left on to Carlops Road, to travel towards Penicuik Estate and then enter Penicuik Estate via the Spear Gate. At approximately 2.30pm the cyclists will leave Penicuik Estate via the Spear Gate to travel down the A766 to finish in Penicuik Public Park. We will have signage making drivers aware of Family Bike Ride taking place at Peebles Road, Pomathorn, Carlops Road and a both sides of the spear gate entrance to Penicuik house. We will have a minimum of 4 Marshalls on the ride, there will be a 1st aider present during the ride. All riders will be helmeted when traveling on the roads. All riders will proceed in single file when traveling from Valleyfield to the Spear Gate and from the Spear Gate to the Public Park.

Justin Woodyer About 1700hrs a maximum of 40 mounted riders will assemble at Granted Penicuik Hunter and Lass Storezone’s yard, Eastfield Industrial Estate, Eastfield Drive. 16.05.18 Tuesday 22 May 2018 At 1800hrs the mounted riders will leave Storezone’s yard turning left onto Midweek Ride Out Eastfield Drive, continuing to its junction with Kirkhill Road and Eskmill Road. The ride will turn left onto Eskmill Road to travel via Harpers Brae, at a point just short of the junction with Bl7026 the ride will enter a field on the right (marked with tape) and will exit straight across the B7026 at 1810hrs and entering fields. At this point the ride will travel via fields exiting at 1830hrs to cross the B6372 (marked with tape) and heading into Fa Hills Farm. At 18:45 the ride will exit a field (marked with tape) onto the A6094 at Old Howgate School turn right to the roundabout, turn left and continuing along the A6094, turn right into Howgate Church car park at approximately 18:50. The ride will halt here for refreshments. At 19:10 the ride will move off through fields towards Halls Farm. At 19:25 at the unclassified road to Hall Farm the ride will exit onto the A701 and turn right, then immediately left into a field (marked with tape).

Justin Woodyer On Wednesday 24 May 2017 the annual pram race will take place. Granted Penicuik Hunter and Lass 16.05.18 Wednesday 23 May 2018 At 1900hrs approximately 15 teams (16 years of age and over or 14 and Pram Race over if part of an organised group) will assemble in the Car Park at Pentlands House where the judging will take place.

At 1930hrs participants will have gathered on Edinburgh Road from a point just South of its junction with Queensway.

The organiser has stated this year they would like the participants to walk for a short distance at the start of the race to allow spectators to see their creations prior to the actual race commencing. The race will then proceed to John Street, Kentigren Way, High Street, West Street, Bog Road, Wilson Street turning left into Jackson Street to the Public Park to finish outside Penicuik Rugby Club (the route should be by the west most path).

Justin Woodyer On Thursday 25 May 2017 the annual Installation Ceremony will take place. Granted Penicuik Hunter and Lass 16.05.18 Thursday 24 May 2018 Between 1630hrs to 1700hrs a stage will be erected outside Penicuik Town Installation Ceremony Hall. All work is carried out on the pavement and will therefore not cause any disruption to the traffic flow. Pedestrians will be able to pass by the stage remaining on the pavement.

From 1845hrs onwards, entertainment will be provided in from of the Town Hall prior to the start of the Ceremony. A road closure will be implemented from 1840hrs to 2045 hrs for the safety of participants outside the Town Hall. Event marshals will implement the closure.

Justin Woodyer From 11.00am a further procession will begin to assemble in the access road Granted Penicuik Hunter and Lass between Eastfield Farm Road and Eastfield Drive. This will consist of seven or 16.05.18 Friday - 26 May 2018 eight bands, majorettes, decorated floats and vehicles. The cavalcade of Ride Out horses will leave House O’Muir at approximately 1.00pm crossing the A702 to travel via Mauricewood Road to Edinburgh Road where, at 1.30pm at Eastfield Farm Road it will be joined by the assembled bands and floats. The whole procession will then continue via Edinburgh Road, John Street, Kentigern Way, High Street, West Street, Bog Road and Wilson Street where the horses will turn right into Jackson Street to disperse. The vehicles and floats will follow into Wilson Street and disperse from there. Marshalls will be provided at all Junctions to place Mills barriers out and move them back off the road when the parade has finished. In view of the problems encountered in recent years with cars being able to come in “contact” with the procession, and to ensure the safety of the participants, a TTRO for a road closure is requested for the whole of the procession route until the last vehicle has passed into Wilson Street. In addition to ensure a clear passage for the parade a suspension of parking along the whole of the procession route is requested together with the suspension of parking in Wilson Street and Jackson Street to relieve traffic congestion whilst the horse cavalcade is assembling and whilst the parade is dispersing. Hunter and Lass committee will ensure no parking cones are put out on Jackson Street for the horses assembling on the Sat morning. Midlothian council are requested to place the no parking cones out on the remainder of the parade route.

Michael Murray Approx.. 60 to 100 walkers will leave from Temple Village Hall on the Granted Temple Village Halls Association pavement to the road junction then for a distance of 500 metres along the 29.05.18 Temple unclassified road which leads onto the B6372, where there is a pavement on Sunday - 3 June 2018 both sides of the bridge, cross the road with good sight lines and continue around to a gap in the railing (open on day with permission). Comprises of three walk options, 3hrs, 1.5hrs or 0.5hrs. walk commences at 10:00hours finishing at approx. 13:00hours

The walking is mostly off road and mostly within the grounds of Arniston House Estate which surround the village of Temple. In addition the outbound route to connect to the core path uses a 300 metre section of the Temnple to Braidwood road, (no pavement available) crossing the B6372 at Braidwood Bridge (with pavements either side) then 100 metres with a flat grass verge before entering the Arniston estate just after entering the road to Carrington. The entrance here is obtained by a temporary opening allowed in the railings by the Arniston Estate. The inbound route is mostly on estate roads not normally open to the public.

Sheryl Skelton Motorcade Tour Granted Newtongrange Children’s Gala The Gala King, Queen and Court will leave the Newtongrange church on 01.06.18 Saturday - 9 June 2018 Main Street at approx. 12.00pm to tour the village in decorated cars(approx. 18) via Main Street,Galadale Cres,Gardiner Place, Reed Drive, Mansfield Road, Mansfield Avenue,Suttieslea,Anderson Avenue, Hamilton Crescent,McCathie Drive, Tenth Street, Park Road, Sixth Street(from Newtongrange Primary School towards Main Street),Lingerwood Walk, Victoria Park, Fourth Street and to The Square. In the event of roadwork’s, this route would, of course be altered.

Main Gala Parade Participants including in the parade are at least 6 Bands, Primary School children/ nursery children, the Gala King, Queen and Court, at least 4 decorated Lorries, 1 horse and carriage, Gala entertainer’s, who will all assemble in The Square. The parade will leave at 1.00pm prompt, proceeding via Third Street, Lingerwood Road, and Main Street to the public park, concluding in the Crowning Ceremony at 1.45pm. The Gala entertainment will continue in the park until 5pm.

Alan McLaren The Carnival Parade will take place in Loanhead, which will be made up of Granted Loanhead Children’s Gala – participants in fancy dress on foot and decorated floats. There will also be a 10.04.18 Carnival Parade procession of vintage and preserved vehicles, which will be located at the Loanhead start of the parade. Over 3000 participants are expected to take part including Friday - 15 June 2018 10 bands. The parade will begin at 1930hrs and proceed via Church Street, Clerk Street, George Drive, Kennington Avenue, McNeill Avenue and The Loan dispersing approximately 2030hrs in Muirfield Gardens and the section of The Loan between the junction with Muirfield Gardens and the junction with Clerk Street. The motorcycle group will make their way into the south most section of Clerk Street where they will depart prior to 2100hrs. MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL

Denis Campbell Fancy Dress Parade will take place in Gorebridge which will be made up of Granted Gorebridge Gala Day up to 100 participants. At 6pm the parade will leave from Arniston Rangers 07.06.18 Friday - 15 June 2018 car park and make its way along Hunterfield Road and Engine Road to the Gore Glen Complex. The parade consists of one float and the local Pipe Band and will finish at 7pm.

Granted Gorebridge Gala Day 07.06.18 Saturday - 16 June 2018 At 11.45am a number of private cars will assemble in Newbyres Village, Gorebridge and tour various streets in Gorebridge by way of: Gore Avenue, Burnside Road, Hillside Crescent North and South, Braeside Road South, Lady Brae, Powdermill Brae, Birkenside, Station Road, Main Street, Hunterfield Road, New Hunterfield Road, Newtonloan Toll, A7, Stobhill Road, The Crescent, Gowkshill, Greenhall Road, Barleyknowe Road, Barleyknowe Crescent, Burnside Road, Arnprior Road, Vogrie Crescent South and Hunter Square.

At 12.30pm the main Gala commences from Gorebridge Bowling Club and will travel along Hunter Square, Hunterfield Road, and Engine Road and enter Gore Park.

The procession will finish at 1pm.

Alan McLaren AT 10.20am the Gentlemen of the Court will leave the driveway to the old Granted Loanhead Children’s Gala Day Loanhead Cemetery in official cars and an 18 seater coach and proceed to 10.04.18 Loanhead Hoggan Way to collect the retiring Queen. They will then proceed to the Saturday - 23 June 2018 home of the Queen Elect at 10 Wheatfield Loan, . The vehicles will proceed by way of Burnbank, Costkea Way, Dryden Terrace, McKinlay Terrace, Kennington Avenue and George Drive to the Masonic Hall.

At 11.30am small groups, bands, two horse drawn carriages and the Gala Court will leave the Masonic Hall and proceed to the Fountain Green for the Crowning Ceremony at 11.45am.

The Grand Procession will assemble at Road, Mavisbank and the driveway leading to the Loanhead (old) Cemetery.

The procession will move off at 1pm proceeding by way of Church Street, Clerk Street, George Drive, Kennington Avenue, McNeill Avenue and The Loan. On arrival ath the Memorial Park (approximately 1.30pm) those participating in the parade will continue down The Loan between the junction with George Avenue and the junction with Muirfield Gardens and then disperse with most groups making their way into the Memorial Park.

At 4pm approximately 70 marchers will assemble at Sherwood Industrial Estate and march onto Dundas Street, the High Street, Park Road, Hawthornden Avenue, Eskdale Terrace, turn left onto Hawthornden Gardens, Eskdale Drive, Pengland Road, left onto Polton Avenue, Rosewell Road/Polton Street, Dundas Street and left onto Sherwood Industrial Estate where the marchers will disperse.

Rickard Pearson Approximately 1600 – 2000 persons will participate in a Triathlon, Swim and Granted Ironman UK Bike Run. Swim starts at 7am, first bike on course at 7.25am with the event 24.04.18 Sunday – 1 July 2018 finishing at 4pm.

We then intend for the whole parade to enter the park to lay a wreath at the war memorial, EVENT allowing the normal flow of traffic to resume. This should last around 5 CANCELLED minutes. We will then exit the public park, turn right back onto Eskbank road and proceed all the way back down to the 4 way junction and turn right down Buccleuch street. Proceed down Buccleuch street and turn left onto Lothian street. Proceed down Lothian street then turn right down St Andrews street. Follow St Andrews street all the way down to Musselburgh road where we will turn left. Proceed from Musselburgh road onto the high street where we will continue all the way back up to the 4 way junction, turn right onto old Edinburgh road and finish back in the car park where we started. The procession will then disperse in their own vehicles

Thereafter, the procession will reform and march back to The Royal British Legion premises in Kirkhill Road using the reverse route, arriving at approximately 12.30pm when the procession will disperse.

Catherine McGill At 10:30 hours a procession will assemble at Newbyres Village Care Home, Granted Royal British Legion Gorebridge, and will consist of various local groups. 01.11.18 Armistice Parade – Gorebridge At 10:45hours the procession will move off and proceed to the junction with 11 November 2018 Gore Avenue, turn right onto Hunterfield Road, stop at The War Memorial for a short service, and to enter The Church for a further memorial service at 11:30 hours where it will disperse. There will be no more than 200 participants. Due to the participants being on the roadway at the War Memorial, officers of Police will control traffic at the junctions of Gore Avenue/ Hunterfield Road and Barleyknowe Lane / Hunterfield Road. There will be 3 stewards in attendance

There will be no more than 400 people taking part in 31.10.18 Association the procession. Armistice Parade – Loanhead At 10:15 hours the procession will move off heading towards the town centre; 11 November 2018 turning left into Clerk Street, left into George Drive, heads west along George Drive, Kennington Avenue and McKinlay Terrace, turn left into Dryden Terrace, turn left onto The Loan and march towards the War Memorial at the Memorial Park on The Loan, for the service and wreath laying. The procession will arrive at the War Memorial at approximately 10.55am. At the conclusion of the service and wreath laying (approximately 11.30am) the parade will move off and continue eastwards on The Loan to return to Loanhead Miners’ Welfare Club along the same route. Jamie Bryant At 10:30 hours a procession will assemble in Buccleuch Street, opposite Granted Royal British Legion Jarnac Court, Dalkeith and will consist of various ex-service personnel and 01.11.18 Armistice Parade – Dalkeith cadets, anticipated to total around 150 people. 11 November 2018 At 10:45 hours the procession will move off to the War Memorial in Kings Park via Eskbank Road, Dalkeith. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 hours, and a two-minute silence will be observed. The parade will reassemble and march back along Eskbank Road, turning right into Buccleuch Street where it will disperse. There will be 4 stewards in attendance

Catherine McGill At 16:30 hours the procession will assemble at the rear of Gorebridge Leisure Granted Gorebridge Community Council Centre and will consist of a Pipe Band and approximately 300 persons. 29.11.18 Candlelight Procession & Xmas lights The procession will travel from Gorebridge Leisure Centre, Newbyres switch-on Crescent, Gore Avenue, Hunterfield Road and assemble at Hunter Square to 2 December 2018 switch on the Village Christmas Tree lights MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL

RSM James Fraser About 10:30 hours, approximately 300 soldiers along with a marching band Granted Glencorse Barracks will leave from Glencorse Barracks, turn right onto Edinburgh Road, 12.12.18 Penicuik continuing through the cross junction onto the A701 Milton Bridge. Army Church Parade The parade will then take a left onto Glencorse Kirk Road and march to 13 December 2018 Glencorse Parish Church where the parade will disperse. About 11:40 hours the parade will then reform after the church service and march back Glencorse Barracks via the reverse route.
