I am asking you for some assistance in an upcoming school event. Our Annual Pancake Breakfast and Car wash will be held on March 26th, this year’s event is one of our few major fund raisers to assist the student body in both academic and extracurricular activities Amelia Earhart is a California Distinguished School with both high Academic Standards and excellent extracurricular studies for our student body. Our students achieve excellence in their studies and we have been blessed with award winning band, choir, pageantry and cheer courses. To further ensure the success of the school in both areas we are trying to make funds possible to cover their entrance fees, buses, materials and supplies for both academic events such as State Level and National History Day, California State Technology Studies, State, Divisional and National Choral and Band Competitions etc… Unfortunately budget cuts within the district and our schools rapid growth have stripped bare our current financial resources. Prior to requesting direct help from the families of students the school is doing fundraising on our own. To meet this requirement Earhart will be having the Pancake Breakfast and Car Wash on the 26thof March and we would like your organization to assist us in making it a success. Similar letters have been sent to local venues and areas of entertainment to ask for their help in supporting our school but we feel that some larger venue and sports teams such as Medieval Times Participation will improve our fundraising efforts What we are seeking is for Medieval Times to provide us with 2 dinner show passes. These in turn would be used as part of a silent auction fundraiser at the events on the 26th of March. Your help and assistance in this matter are greatly appreciated. On July 3 at 1:38 p.m., San Bernardino County Fire crews were dispatched to the area of the old Cliffhanger restaurant for a rock climber who had fallen 30 feet. Crews made access in the area and found the man, who was unable to self rescue. Due to the complexity of the call and the risks involved, a SBCoFD Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team was started. Crews utilized a rope rescue system to access and haul the patient from the rock face. Ninety minutes after arrival, the patient was loaded to an awaiting ambulance for transport to a local trauma canter in stable condition.

    STMAinaction STMA Northwest Regional Conference features top sports turf professionals EATTLE HOSTED some sports turf VIPs July 21-22 as the Sports Turf Managers Association partnered with the Intermountain, SNorthern California, Oregon, and Pacific Northwest chapters to produce an STMA Northwest Regional Conference that featured sports turf specific education, a trade show, hands-on demonstrations, and tours of some of the city’s major league facilities. The sponsors handed out Seattle Mariner tickets to the more than 175 attendees who enjoyed a beautiful evening at the ballpark while watching the home team beat the Chicago White Sox in extra innings. Attendees earlier that day had walked on the field (outside the lines of course!) while meeting with head groundskeeper Bob Christofferson and his crew during a tour of Safeco Field. Another highlight was a drop-in visit from new Seahawks coach Pete Carroll during the group’s visit to the Virginia Mason Athletic Center, the team’s practice facility and office in Renton. Carroll snuck up on an unsuspecting Seahawk fields & grounds manager Sean Vanos as he was leading a tour of the cool site on the shores of huge Lake Washington and told the crowd how much he and his team appreciate the turf care. On another stop the group visited and lunched at Starfire Sports, a non-profit soccer complex in Tukwila, which was most impressive. The facility is open 24/7 and sees action from Major League Soccer’s Seattle Sounders and every other level imaginable. Here the group had a chance to meet with vendors and their number included several nation- ally known sports turf advocates, including Lynda Wightman of Hunter Industries, Boyd Montgomery of Toro, Christiaan Arends of Barenbrug USA, Jay Warnick of World Class and Charlie Vestal of Turface Athletics.
