(2) How many car spaces does this car park have for use by rail commuters? (3) What was the total cost of this project? (4) From what areas do commuters come to use these facilities? Answer— I am advised: (1), (2) and (4) I am advised that this information is available from www.tca.nsw.gov.au (3) The project was completed within the budget allocation. *1017 SPENDING ON HEALTH SERVICES—Ms Linda Burney asked the Minister for Health, and Minister for Medical Research— How much will be allocated in this year's State Budget to spend on health services in the Canterbury electorate? Answer— I am advised: Health resources are not allocated on an electorate basis. Health services for the residents of the Canterbury electorate are principally provided by the Sydney Local Health District. The Total Expenditure Budget allocated to the Sydney Local Health District for 2011-12 is $1.2 billion. Canterbury residents have access to a wide range of health services including the major hospitals of Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Sydney Dental Hospital and Canterbury Hospital together with Community Health Services including mental health, early childhood, oral health and drug health. The Head Office of the Tresillian Family Care Centres is also based in Belmore. *1020 SPENDING ON CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENVIRONMENT—Ms Linda Burney asked the Minister for the Environment, and Minister for Heritage— How much will be allocated in this year's State Budget to spend on climate change and environment in the Canterbury electorate? Answer— I am advised as follows: The State Budget does not itemise expenditure by individual electorates. *1022 NATURAL RESOURCES ADVISORY COUNCIL—Ms Linda Burney asked the Minister for the Environment, and Minister for Heritage— (1) Why has the Minister disbanded the Natural Resources Advisory Council (NRAC)? (2) What will replace the NRAC as a peak consultative body on environmental issues? Answer— This question should be directed to the Minister for Primary Industries. *1030 WARATAH CARRIAGES—Ms Tania Mihailuk asked the Minister for Transport— What percentage of rolling stock on the Bankstown Line will the new Waratah carriages comprise: (a) by the conclusion of 2011-12; (b) by the conclusion of 2012-13; (c) by the conclusion of 2013-14? Answer— I am advised: (a) to (c) The deployment of Waratah trains is not defined by a specific line, but operational sectors. 1092 LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Thursday 20 October 2011 *1032 EASY ACCESS PROGRAM—Ms Tania Mihailuk asked the Minister for Transport— (1) What specific criteria are used to determine which stations are improved as part of the Easy Access Program? (2) What specific factors contributed to Sefton Railway Station being prioritised over Yagoona Station? (3) When will the Government commit to providing Easy Access at Yagoona Station? Answer— I am advised: (1) to (3) The NSW Government has committed to an extra $60 million over four years for Easy Access upgrades. A review of station priorities is currently underway. *1033 ADDITIONAL EASY ACCESS—Ms Tania Mihailuk asked the Minister for Transport— Will the Government consider allocating any of the $7,500,000 in funding listed under "Additional Easy Access" to Yagoona Station? Answer— The NSW Government has committed to an extra $60 million over four years for Easy Access upgrades. A review of station priorities is underway. Yagoona will be considered as part of this review. *1037 TRANSFER OF PUBLIC HOUSING TENANT—Mr Jamie Parker asked the Minister for Family and Community Services, and Minister for Women— (1) Why has Housing NSW taken over six years to transfer public housing tenant T2215402? (2) Has Housing NSW been informed by the tenant's doctor that the tenant's current housing situation is having a serious effect on his physical and mental health? (3) Why has Housing NSW offered properties to tenant T2215402 that did not comply with Housing NSW's own criteria for appropriate housing for the tenant? (4) (a) Has the Team Leader of Housing NSW Central Sydney Region - Inner West & Northern Suburbs provided the NSW Ombudsman with "all relevant" information in relation to an investigation involving tenant T2215402? (b) If no, what information in the possession of the Team Leader was not provided to the NSW Ombudsman? (5) How many Housing NSW tenants have been approved for a priority transfer and have been waiting for that transfer longer than two years? Answer— (1) A number of factors contribute to the waiting time for priority housing approved clients including the availability of properties in high-demand allocation zones. (2) Yes. (3) Information pertaining to the tenant's specific housing needs was not recorded correctly. This error has since been rectified. (4) (a) Yes. (b) N⁄A. (5) Should a Housing NSW tenant who has been approved for a transfer advise of a change in their circumstances, Housing NSW will review their application to ensure that they still meet the guidelines for a transfer; reassess their priority status; and verify their housing needs. Tenants who have been approved for a priority transfer will wait a longer period of time should they nominate a high demand allocation zone. *1040 OFFERS OF VOLUNTARY REDUNDANCY—Mr Ryan Park asked the Minister for Health, and Minister for Medical Research— (1) How many people located in the Wollongong Local Government Area and employed by your agency will be offered voluntary redundancy? (2) What is the timeline for this process? (3) What information will be used to determine the positions identified as eligible for redundancy? Answer— I am advised: 1093 LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Thursday 20 October 2011 (1) to (3) Data on Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District staff numbers is not maintained by Local Government Area. Local Health Districts (LHDs) are currently working on structures and most staff are anticipated to be directly placed into positions. The transfer of staff from the Health Reform Transition Office (HRTO) to the Local Health Districts is scheduled for completion by 31 October 2011. Eligibility of Voluntary Redundancy payments will be determined according to the NSW Health Policy Directive PD2007_085 - Managing Displaced Staff of the NSW Health Service. *1041 OFFERS OF VOLUNTARY REDUNDANCY—Mr Ryan Park asked the Minister for Education— (1) How many people located in the Wollongong Local Government Area and employed by your agency will be offered voluntary redundancy? (2) What is the timeline for this process? (3) What information will be used to determine the positions identified as eligible for redundancy? Answer— Staff who become excess as a result of organisational change are offered voluntary redundancy. As at 18 October 2011, the timeline for any future offers of voluntary redundancy in the Department of Education and Communities has not yet been determined. *1048 CENTRALLY-DEVELOPED SUPPLY CONTRACTS—Ms Carmel Tebbutt asked the Minister for Education— (1) In the last two financial years (2009-10 and 2010-11), what savings has NSW Education and Training made from centrally-developed supply contracts? (2) How much of these savings have been reinvested in education and training initiatives? Answer— (1) Savings achieved for Department of Education and Communities centrally developed contract was: (a) 2009-10 - $88,255,570 (b) 2010-11 - $84,376,636 (2) After deducting the costs associated with establishing and managing the centrally-developed supply contracts, all savings are used to support education and training in schools and TAFEs. *1052 FAIRFIELD HOSPITAL—ADDITIONAL BEDS—Mr Guy Zangari asked the Minister for Health, and Minister for Medical Research— Considering no additional beds were specifically announced for Fairfield Hospital in the 2011-12 Budget, when will Fairfield Hospital receive the additional beds it was promised during the run up to the 2011 State Elections? Answer— I am advised: In the September Budget Announcement, South Western Sydney Local Health District was allocated $1.4 million for an additional adult intensive care bed at Bankstown Hospital and $10.9 million to progressively open 56 more beds at Liverpool Hospital following the commissioning of the new building works towards the end of 2011⁄early 2012.
