Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed) University 26th April, 1996 was a moment of crowning glory for Bharati Vidyapeeth as well as, for Dr. Patangrao Kadam. The day on which, the government of India on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission granted the status of University to a group of 12 institutions of BharatiVidyapeeth, located in Pune, in appreciation of their academic excellence and potential for further growth vide its notification No. E-9- 15/95-U.3 dated 26/4/96 under the section 3 of the University GrantCommissionActof1956. Bharati Vidyapeeth University has got 'A' grade status by Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), Government of India. Addedly it has also been reaccredited to grade 'A' by National Assessment and Accreditation Council(NAAC). Thus, Bharati Vidyapeeth University is now an amalgam of 29 constituent units. Such a large number of constituent units transform it into, arguably, the largest multi-disciplinary multi-campus University in the country established under section 3 ofUGGact1956. The degrees and Diplomas offered by Bharati Vidyapeeth are on par in status and validity with the ones conferred by any statutory university.
