3rd Annual Sugar Shindig . . . a Sweet Success!

The Fort Bend Education Foundation’s 3rd Annual Sugar Shindig on October 13 at Safari Texas was another sweet success netting over $26,500 with almost 800 guests in attendance. FBISD staff, volunteers and community members who came out to shimmy and shake had a fabulous time during dinner, the cake auction, and dancing! The Angels of Education Auxiliary’s event was the icing on the cake to a new school year!

18th Annual Back to School Scramble is First in Class! The 18th Annual Fort Bend Education Foundation’s Back to School Scramble Golf Tournament took place on September 11, 2017 at Sweetwater Country Club. Schlumberger presented the event, which was co-chaired by Chris Barton and Claude Leatherwood. Thanks to the generosity of this year’s participants, the event netted over $122,000 for the Fort Bend Education Foundation and its Emergency Grants to outfit classrooms affected by Hurricane Harvey. The 256 golfers enjoyed breakfast from Chick-fil-A and an awards banquet at the end of the day.

Fort Bend Education Foundation’s 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee Ignites the Future! The 25th Anniversary Fort Bend Education Foundation Gala took place at the Sugar Land Marriott Town Square on March 3, 2018. This event, presented by Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins & Mott LLP, set a new record netting over $345,000 for Grants to Teachers and Schools. Nearly 900 people were in attendance, and every school in Fort Bend ISD participated by providing a Silent Auction basket. Gala Co-Chairs Lynn Halford and Peggy Jackson toasted the guests for their efforts to support the Fort Bend Education Foundation to enrich and enhance the quality of education for all Fort Bend ISD students. The Drumline and the music of Password entertained supporters while they bid on a variety of auction items.

Dulles MS (Student Support): Cultivating Greatness Garden Project Students participating in the Garden Club were proud to be creators of the garden. The students, along with the teacher, learned how to plant and tend to a garden as well as learned about the flexibility required and how it mimics life. Outside of the Garden Club, multiple classes moved their learning outside to the courtyard, and more students ate lunch outdoors, to enjoy the green environment provided by the garden.

Ridge Point High School (Foreign Language): Digital Voice Recorders Holley ES (ELA): Book Club and Classroom Library In the Foreign Language Department, one main goal is for With a variety of books, students are able to read during students to become independent learners.
