USS ENDEAVOUR NFC-9105 Meadville, PA USA Report filed by Crewman Dina Thomas I had one family contact me for toys in Spartansburg. ere were five children ranging from 3 months to 10 years. Not being aware of the 'one bike per family rule' until after the order was approved, I allowed two. Now that I am aware of that rule, it will not happen again. In the 4 barrels placed and 4 cash boxes, 70 toys and $44 was collected. I used the cash to purchase one bike, which was not available thru the Meadville location. I per- sonally delivered thank you notes to the business involved in Sparta in spite of my rehab. I signed them as a representative of the Marine Corps. I do not recall the exact number of bikes donated in Meadville, but I do know that one of them came to Sparta. The excess toys collected in Sparta were taken to Meadville where they were distributed. Meadville collected at 17 locations in town and 11 outside of town as well as 4 cash boxes (at last count) and received ap- proximately 700 toys and had approx 200 families. I visited the location and was very impressed with the operation. It shows that they have been at this much longer than I have. I believe they had (at start) 15 bikes and helmets. Toys were picked up by the parents during the week of Dec 16 in Meadville (Sat the 21st for Spartansburg). The bake sale (which I may have mentioned in my last report) was a success as usual. I do not have the numbers for that event (was it $96?). The food was good, especially the buckeyes, which I have since tried to make but failed miserably, and I only wish I had bought more for myself. We had a good location just inside the mall doors and got a lot of traffic. I only lasted two hours before I had to leave because of my foot surgery.

USS LIBERTY NFC-0304 Hillsboro, IL USA Report filed by Captain Mandy Pershing Meetings: On September 5th the USS Liberty held a chapter meeting. One Chapter member who attended the convention in Joilet told us about her trip. She was very excited about meeting and really enjoyed the little convention. She was not able to help out with the IFT table but she said it really caught her eye. Members then discussed possibly getting polo shirt with the chapter’s logo on it, so they may wear at conventions. The Cubby Hole in Carlinville, Illinois had the best deals. The Chapter is still looking and will bring all information to the next meeting where they will decide. The Chapter discussed their regular community service activities of helping hands, adopt-a-pet, and REMAINS. The chapter also discussed upcoming events such as the convention in INDY, and the convention at Farpoint in Maryland this February. Community Activities: On August 23rd the USS Liberty helped clean out the helping hands building for this upcoming win- ter. All summer clothes and other items that have stayed on the racks for a long period of time were going to be discarded. The chapter took all the clothes and pairs of shoes and collected them for REMAINS outreach center. The usual amount given was 150 bags, however, because of the quantity of clothes collected they were able to bag 307 bags of clothes (approx. 61 articles of clothes per bag) and box 371 pair of shoes to be sent out to the third world countries. Two pictures are included in the following attachment the first is of the some chapter members sitting next to the wagon of clothes. Pictured are Mandy Pershing, Vanessa Light, Nancy Fry, Lana Pershing, and Paul Pershing. Unable to have photo taken was Pat Thomas, and Zack Eskrom. USS LIBERTY continued On August 16th , August 30th , and September 6th the chapter helped out the Helping Hands outreach organization, which is an organization that collects clothes to display in a building for the public and those in need to take as they wish with no charge for any of the items. The main task this time was to get all the clothing moved for the winter months. Members also had to do the usual sorting, hanging, and organizing of clothes as well. The Building with all the clothes is open every other from 8am-12 noon. On August 26th the chapter donated milk jugs, rags, and plastic containers to the adopt-a pet organization for animals to use as water/feed dishes, blankets, and toys. The organization is trying to stock up on food now so they will not fall short of feeding everyone this winter.

USS ARAPAHOE NFC-75819 Aurora, CO USA Report filed by Captain David O’Brien This month the starship Arapahoe celebrates the begining of our second year of service to the fleet. In preparation for this month's meeting I have asked the members of our crew to offer up some of their favor- ite memories of the past year and insights into the next for upcoming monthly newsletter, the Slipstream. Having survived my inaugural year as an IFT Commanding Officer I would sum up these past twelve months as more of a shakedown cruise than a maiden voyage. We aboard the Arapahoe have certainly experienced our share of bumps in the road, but I'm glad to say that it would seem we have finally gained our space legs. With that having been said it is my esteemed privilege to announce to the fleet the arrival of our Chief Medical Officer, Mr. Dennis Sandoval. Dennis is a 29 yr old Colorado Native with a Medical Technican certification. In anticipation of future of the Arapahoe's growth in active membership Dennis's first duty will be to distribute the newly designed IFT Medical form. Next week Ship's Counselor Endres, Crewman Colombo and I will be representing the IFT at the 34th annual MileHiCon literary convention. During our two hour block of the event's Hospitality Suite the Arapahoe will be serving up an assortment of chips & dips as well as our own signature treats: Raktajino cookies and Bio-neural Jell-o Packs. A portion of our itinerary will be devoted to attending a writer's workship in hopes of provoking our own creative energies. will also be present to promote her new book. The crew and I are very excited about the prospect of meeting her. Until then, that's all from the Front Range Frontier

USS RAVEN NFC-9810 Cheswold, DE USA Report filed by Captain Brian Lukas At around 7:30 pm Wednesday night (September 18, 2002) on Rt. 42 (Main street), Cheswold, a car traveling east hit 1 parked car pushing it several feet into another parked car pushing both cars several foot. The front end of the car that caused the accident was pushed in on the right side. The first parked car was damaged in the front and from the back window to the back of the car. The second car had less damage then the first. Mr. Lukas, his girlfriend Miss Gale Rowell and Mr. Richard Ziegenhorn called the local Cheswold officer and 911 to report the accident. Afterwhich both Mr. Lukas and Miss Rowell left the house with a portable first aid kit to check on the driver of the car and anyone else that might have been hurt in the accident. After mak- ing sure no one needed first aid, both Mr. Lukas and Mr. Ziegenhorn directed traffic around the ac- cident and gave assistance to the owner of the parked car with the clean up of glass and other frag- ments on and around the car. Chief Vann arrived at the scene and took charge of the investigation. The accident scene was cleared up around 9 pm. Pictures provided by Miss Gale Rowell. The Raven has out done itself since the Raven has been commissioned. Today with most of the Crew helped collect money and food donations in front of the Dover Acme. Our GRAND TOTAL is $800.00. I would like to thank Lewis personally for staying there right to the end. Also, I would like to thank all the crew members that helped. I know we are over $1,000 just for this year. Dear Friends of Roddenberry.com and Lincoln Enterprise,

We would like to welcome you to the new RODDENBERRY STORE. The Roddenberry store is the new name for Lincoln Enterprises and extends beyond for secure e-commerce transactions. Thank you for your patience as we have been building our store. We are now open and eagerly await your visit. Many of you know our merchandise, and have been loyal customers for many years. The Store at Roddenberry. com is very different from our old online catalog. The look and layout, much of the merchandise, and ordering have been made easy and safe, just point and click. Majel and Gene Roddenberry started Lincoln Enterprises in 1968. Majel has always been the driving force behind the company, and has dedicated much time and creativity trying to fill the merchandising requests of the Roddenberry/Star Trek Audience. Over the years she has represented Lincoln through the mail order business and by going to conventions. We hope to continue both of those traditional methods of bringing you merchandise as well through our new site, which has worldwide capability of the Internet. Roddenberry.com is the concept of Eugene W. Roddenberry, Jr. As the son of Majel and Gene Roddenberry, Eugene spent most of his years working on many of the Star Trek shows. After college, Eugene relocated to Toronto, Canada where he dedicated himself to Earth: Final Conflict. After four years of trying to correctly represent the Roddenberry philosophy, Eugene knew he had to leave the show. Over the years Eugene has seen the needs and heard the numerous requests for new merchandise. These requests prompted him to bring Lincoln Enterprises, now The Roddenberry Store into the new millennium. When first arriving at the warehouse, things were in a disorganized state: equipment was antiquated, merchandise was disorganized and orders were going unfulfilled. Eugene and the new management spent six months organizing the warehouse. During which we re-discovered many of the classic pieces that haven’t been offered to the public in nearly 20 years. After doing a complete inventory of the warehouse, the business was restructured and re-staffed. The old technology (collating machines the size of VW Bugs) was replaced with modern copiers. Everything has been computerized and brought updated. The site officially opened on January 1, 2002, but with the birth of any website, we needed a test time to debug all the problems. At this time we have fleshed out the bugs and are working at full potential. So welcome to the Grand Opening of the Roddenberry Store! Your loyalty and patience has been appreciated. Hopefully, you find the wait worth it. We have some new pieces to offer such as the Star Trek: Enterprise T-shirt as well as some amazing classic pieces that haven’t been offered in many years. As always we have every script Star Trek has ever seen. These are great for the fans, collectors, and aspiring writers. In the near future we hope to offer more new products for all the new Roddenberry shows. So come and see, and tell us what you think. And HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL: A as always we appreciate your love of Star Trek and your loyalty to the Roddenberry name. GRANDEUR ADVENTURE (Continued from page 12) Thank You! tions.
