World Rankings 2013 No. 04 04 Apr 2013 • Bonus Points are awarded to the final positions in Singles events of Olympic Games, World and Continental Championships, ITTF Pro-Tour and some other individual events. These Bonus Points remain valid for a period of 12 months. • Players’ positions on the previous ranking list are shown in ( ) in column 2. (<<) = no change in position from the previous ranking list. (unr) = did not appear on the previous ranking list. • Players become part of the Initial Rating process if they do not already have their “f” final Starting Points AND they have a change to their results. This change can be due to new results being added, dropped (no longer part of the current 4-year cycle), or modified to correct any error discovered. Players are marked as follows: “n” newly ranked; “i” Starting Points are the calculated Initial Points; “c” Starting Points are capped to the player’s 2BW (2nd Best Win); “f” in the first list where their Starting Points have become final, having attained 5 Significant Wins and 5 Significant Losses. • Only players who have had results in the past 12 months are ranked. Players marked * have had no results entered for 6 months. These players may re-enter the lists if a result is entered for them in the future. Players who have no results entered for more than 4 years are treated as new players. • In the events lists: Type: Shows if an individual competition was played in Groups (GR), a K-O system (KO), or if it was a team event (TM). -

Chers lecteurs, permettez-moi, au nom de toute l'équipe du Ping Magazine, de vous présenter nos meilleurs vœux pour 2013. Cette année nouvelle sera marquée par des événements importants mais également par des nouveautés pour notre magazine. La première de ces nouveautés vous permettra de consulter votre magazine partout et tout le temps sur votre tablette ou ordinateur, à un moindre coût bien sûr, et avec un paiement sécurisé en ligne, cela va aussi de soi. Une autre nouveauté consistera à vous offrir des places pour venir encourager notre équipe nationale fin avril à Blegny dans le cadre des qualifications pour les championnats d'Europe. Quant à l'événement de cette année 2013, ce sera bien entendu la Coupe du monde, fin octobre à Verviers. Et à ce sujet, sachez que je suis évidemment conscient de la perception qu'en ont les pongistes belges de par le fait qu'elle soit déjà venue 2 fois en Belgique. C'est - presque - logique : cette troisième édition belge engendre un sentiment de banalisation. Mais je vous demande de bien vous rendre compte : ce sont plus de 100 millions de téléspectateurs qui auront les yeux rivés sur notre pays, et donc notre ping. C'est absolument capital pour notre pays de réussir ce pari, il est vrai un peu fou.
