Dear Arista Networks Stockholders Dear Arista Networks Stockholders: I am pleased to report that Arista Networks demonstrated another year of solid execution in a challenging 2019 year. The transformation to cloud networking platform is inevitable. Arista has pioneered this for the past decade and in 2019 we extended this with our entry to cognitive campus and mainstream enterprises. We are extremely proud that our cloud networking innovations are being adopted by thousands of diverse and happy enterprise customers. 2019 Highlights: • Revenue for our fiscal year 2019 was $2.41 billion representing an increase of 12.1% from the prior year. We now serve over 6,000 customers globally in more than 90 countries. • Arista announced an expansion of the Cognitive campus portfolio with unified wired and wireless campus edge products designed to address transitional changes as the enterprise migrates from client to IOT to cloud. • Arista introduced Open Cloud-Scale Platform, a radically new and disruptive platform that doubles system density while reducing power consumption and cost. The Arista 7360X Series was codeveloped closely with our customer Facebook. • Arista delivered over ten 400G platforms for cloud network transformation, with the new Arista 7800R family addressing the needs of the most demanding 400G cloud networks. • Arista’s Cloud Vision 2019 and Cloud EOS, brings greater automation and real-time streaming capabilities. Cloud Vision and CloudEOS delivers network wide operational agility, availability with access to multi-cloud visibility for Amazon AWS, Google GCP and Microsoft Azure. • Arista introduced the 7130L Series, a next-generation ultra-low latency, high-precision network application platform, the first product from our Metamako acquisition. • For the fifth consecutive year Arista maintained its leadership position in the Gartner July 2019 Magic Quadrant for Data Center Networking. • We celebrated our 5th anniversary of IPO at the NYSE with our top customers and analysts and our chief guest Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft describing impact of the Arista and Microsoft partnership. Additionally, in February 2020, Arista acquired Big Switch Networks, network monitoring and software defined networking pioneer for multi-cloud visibility. This is our third acquisition in the past two years as customers migrate from legacy silo Places in the Network (PINs) to Places in the cloud (PICs) Looking ahead, we are vigilant of the global spread of COVID-19, placing the safety of our employees, customers and community support as top of mind goals. We remain optimistic by our market opportunities and prospects in the 2020 era and believe Arista will play a pivotal role in cloud network transformation. Arista is committed to multi-year foundation of technology innovation and growth-profitability metrics. I thank Arista stockholders, customers, partners and our employees for your ongoing support. '\ I1 ~0402594487 11111 U~ I. Continuity and Change in Hollywood Representations of the Middle East after September 11 th by Sulaiman Arti A Doctoral Thesis Submitted in Partial Fulfilment of the Requirements for the Award of Doctor of Philosophy of Loughborough University June 2009 © 2008 S. Arti Abstract This thesis inquires into the factors behind Hollywood's depiction of the Middle East. That depiction is not static, but is modified in response to changes in political events and US government foreign policy. Although the events of 9/11 seemed to justify the traditional negative stereotype of Arabs, the image has been partially and rationally re-interpreted. This was due to the rise in prominence of the ideas of a minority of radical and free-thinking members of the Hollywood cornmunity who embraced a more intellectual approach, which advocated that the popular Western view of the Arab world was unjustified and based on a fallacious fabrication for Western political advantage. The research further shows that these activists did not owe allegiance to the Hollywood-US government propaganda machine. They were able to fracture this traditional alliance and provide the opportunity for the appearance of films of a radical nature, which were critical of US Middle Eastern policy and projected the Arab world in a new light. The study analyzes a selection of films that represent the Middle East in terms of their philosophy and cinematic structure, which enables them to act as vectors to raise public awareness of the issues and to promote reconciliation and co-existence between East and West.

SMOKE University of California, San Francisco, Center for Tobacco Control Research and Education | August 2020 | FREE https://bit.ly/sfm-casebook2020 MOVIES SmokeFreeMovies.ucsf.edu When kids are at greater risk... Why are kids still starting to smoke and vape? And why are we seeing more smoking in US movies and TV shows? The two questions are connected. Tobacco content and exposure are increasing, overall, in top-grossing US movies released in theaters, first, and then on streaming channels with no age gates. Most of the companies making these movies also commission original streaming shows with tobacco content. This chart shows that tobacco content (incidents) and audience exposure (impressions) have increased by more than half in films youth-rated PG/ PG-13 over the past five years. Tobacco content more than doubled and au- dience tobacco exposures have tripled in R-rated films accessible to young people via in-home media, over the same period. 1 | Data: UCSF-Breathe California Onscreen Tobacco Database (OTDb) ...big media companies are at greater risk Since 2002, according to content surveys by UCSF and Breathe California, more than half of all top-grossing films have featured smoking, including 51% of movies released in 2019. Overall, 44% of PG-13 films and more than 70% of R-rated movies featured tobacco imagery. Movie inventories differ among companies, and not all films on streaming services are top-grossing movies, but it’s probable that about half of the total movie inventories now accessible to young people feature smoking. So do most of the original streaming shows most popular with young people 15-21, according to recent studies by Truth Initiative, the tobacco prevention foundation funded out of the states’ multibillion-dollar Master Settlement Agreement with US tobacco companies in 1998.

  • Unreported Cases 1093
1995] UNREPORTED CASES 1093 interest and bank overdrafts should be considered by the Court at all. I discuss each disputed item individually. 1. Accrued Interest Petitioners contend that Respondent improperly took into account an accrued interest liability shown on the June 30, 1989, balance sheet. Paone and Lawson used the March 31, 1989, balance sheet, which does not show the accrued interest liability. As I previously discussed, the Court can consider the information on the June 30, 1989, balance sheet in this appraisal action. Kovacs noted a relevant factor, then made a proper deduction. 2. Working Capital Loans Kovacs' categorized some of working capital interest as an expense to be deducted from cash flow. The remainder of working capital interest, which Kovacs described as fixed working capital, he treated as debt. As I have already discussed, Kovacs' approach to working capital interest provides a more reliable indication of Silgan's value. 3. Senior Notes ir principle amount. In his report, Lawson states that the market of these notes probably exceeds their principle amount because of es in interest rates. Lawson's effort to slightly adjust the value of :bt has merit, but I decline to alter the figure that the parties' experts I upon. 4. Other Long-Term Liabilities Kovacas made another revision to management's projections ming long-term liabilities. Paone used the figure employed by xement in 1989, but Kovacs adjusted it to reflect long-term ties reflected in Silgan's books prior to the merger. Lawson rs with Kovacs inclusion of these liabilities, but he discounts them sent value.
