GEORGIA/SEC • This will mark the 7th meeting all-time as Georgia holds a 5-1 advantage in the all-time series • The two teams last met on Dec. 8, 2015 at Stegeman Coliseum as Georgia prevailed 74-64 • In 2011 the Eagles had a good chance to pull off a win at Georgia, leading by five points with 21 seconds left but the Bulldogs forced OT with a Gerald Robinson layup with three seconds remaining (Georgia 92-86 in OT) • Winthrop’s only win the series came on Dec. 9, 2003 at the Stegeman Coliseum in an 80-60 victory behind 18 points from James Shuler and 13 points from Ivan Jenkins as the Eagles shot 59 percent from the floor • Eagles are 3-26 against the SEC all-time with the last win coming on Dec. 22, 2012 at Auburn (74-67) TEAM NEWS • Winthrop is 5-3 looking for a 4th straight win, having won five of its last six games • Eagles defeated Furman by 19 points, which is the highest margin of victory in a non-conference road win under Kelsey • In fact, it’s the largest margin of victory in a non-conference road game since the Eagles beat Georgia 80-60 (+20), Dec. 9, 2003 • The 20-point win at Georgia stands as the program’s record for margin of victory over a non-conference D1 opponent on the road • Against South Carolina State the Eagles received 40-plus points from their bench for a fifth straight game as the bench is currently con- tributing 37.5 points per game • The Eagles have scored 85 or more points in a school record six straight games • The Eagles are 7-3 in their last 10 games against opponents from the state of Georgia • When playing games on Dec. 5 the Eagles are 7-4 all-time but 0-3 on the road • Anders Broman and Bjorn Broman became the 9th brother combination in the history of the Big South and currently rank 6th all-time in total points combined (813) • Winthrop allowed a school-record 119 points in the loss at Auburn (Previous record was 113 set Nov. 18, 1978 vs. Gardner-Webb and Jan. 2, 1994 at #14 Connecticut) • Auburn finished the game shooting 62 percent from the field, which is the first time the Eagles have allowed an opponent to shoot 60% or better since Feb. 26, 2014 in a 107-100 overtime win over UNC Asheville • It was just the sixth time under Pat Kelsey that an opponent shot 60 percent or better • The 58 first half points allowed and the 61 in the second half were both highs for opponents under Kelsey • The Eagles hit 13 threes in the loss while Auburn knocked down 14, which was the first time the Eagles lost a game under Kelsey when both teams hit 10 or more threes in a game • Eagles held Mars Hill to 21 percent shooting, which becomes the lowest a Kelsey led team has held an opponent (24 percent vs.
