CHECKLIST: RETURNING TO EVENTING HORSE/RIDER PREPAREDNESS ❑ Your horse has been slowly brought back into work (if your horse had time off) or fitness was maintained for the level appropriate ❑ Taken lessons with your coach (the USEA recommends an ICP Certified Instructor) and he/she has signed off on the competition/level entered ❑ Gone cross-country schooling and feel prepared for competition ❑ Your dressage test has been learned and practiced ❑ Practiced riding a full show jumping course ❑ Mane pulled, tail trimmed/banged, groomed, and looking presentable ❑ You feel fit, balanced, and ready to ride a cross-country course safely ❑ Helmet and safety vest checked for proper fit and quality ❑ Read through the USEF Rules For Eventing for a refresher HORSE CARE ❑ Coggins is current ❑ Obtained a Health Certificate (if required by event/state) ❑ Routine vaccines are up-to-date ❑ Dewormed/fecal checked ❑ A baseline lameness exam has been performed by your veterinarian ❑ Trimming and/or shoeing schedule has been kept up and your horse is drilled and tapped if necessary TRANSPORTATION ❑ Trailer tire pressure is checked ❑ Trailer lights and electrical is working ❑ Floorboards have been cleaned and inspected for wear and tear ❑ Inspection and registration are current ❑ Emergency first aid kit stocked (remember to check expiration dates) MEMBERSHIP ❑ USEA Membership is renewed for 2020 ❑ Horse’s USEA profile is up-to-date and complete ❑ Any new horses are registered with USEA (Full required for Preliminary and above) ❑ USEF Membership is renewed for 2020 (Modified and above only) ❑ SafeSport Training is up-to-date (Mandatory for Modified and above) ❑ FEI Registration is current (FEI levels only) COVID-19 ACTION PLAN ❑ Signed the USEA/USEF Waiver and Release of Liability (available with the entry form) ❑ Your temperature was taken and is below 99.5° F ❑ Have a face mask or face covering ❑ Agree to comply with all social distancing requirements ❑ Have access to hand sanitizer and/or soap and water.
