Unemployment is a biggest challenge in our Country. Large number of youths especially in Rural areas across the country are facing unemployment problem . The ray of hope for unemployed youth , which had originated at Dharmasthala, , , under the blessings Lord Manjunatha and under the leadership of great visionary Parampoojya Dr D.Veerendran Heggadeji in the form of RUDSETI in the year 1982. Erstwhile Syndicate , and SDME trust had jointly sponsored this Rural Development Mission under the guidance of Ministry of Rural Development ( MoRD), Govt of across the country . Presently there are 585 RSETIs across the country which is imparting various skill training in 58 NSQF aligned and 5 other approved courses. During the current Financial Year these RSETIs have trained more than 2.56 Lakhs Rural youths who have got training under various courses through these RSETIs RUDSETI is one of our best Institutes and they are also conducting training and making rural youths self-employed. I am happy to learn that they are going to publish Annual Activity report for the FY 2020-21 . On this occasion I want to congratulate the Director and Faculties & convey my sincere thanks to them for achieving the revised target for the current Financial Year 2020-21. A Brief Report of the Institute

Our small beginning made in the year 1982, in starting RUDSETI concept has become a National movement. Initially starting with one Institute at a small village called Ujire of Dakshina Dist leading to establishment of 586 RSETIs across the country which includes 27 RUDSETIs spread across 17 States in the country. The SDME Trust along with e- and Canara Bank took the initiative way back in 1982 for mitigating the unemployment problem in the country.

RUDSETI, Mysuru took birth in the year 1992 since then it is striving hard to bring light into the darkened minds of the unemployed youth of our command area. The Institute is having beautiful campus with very good infrastructure facilities in prime location within Mysuru city limits. We have full- fledged staff strength having one Director, Two Senior Faculties, Two Office Assistants One Attender and One Watchman cum Gardner.

We conduct regular training programmes approved by National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) broadly under following categories 1. Agricultural EDP, 2. Product EDP, 3. Process EDP and 4. General EDP, 5. Skill Upgradation programme for settled entrepreneurs and 6. Any other training programmes based on local needs can be designed and implemented subject to approval from NSQF and National Academy of RUDSETI. We have conducted 835 training programme benefitting 26917 candidates since inception.

RUDSETI provides different skill training programmes to the unemployed youth who are in the age group of 18-45 years. RUDSETI provides training programmes for such youth in different skills. The duration of the training programme will range from 06-day to 45-days. All the training programmes are purely residential with free of cost including boarding and lodging facilities. The philosophy of the RUDSETI is to channalise youth power in wealth creation of our nation by taking-up a self-employment venture.

RUDSET Institute, Mysore started in the year 1992 in a small house near the footage of Chamundi hills. This is the Twenty-nineth successful year of our existence in the field of rural entrepreneurship. We are having a command area of three districts of Karnataka viz., Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar.

We are happy to inform that we could achieve the target fixed for conducting the number of programmes for the FY 2020-21. The performance is as follows. Target was 20 programmes with 465 candidates. Achievement is 20 programmes with 467 candidates trained under various self-employment training programmes.

Out of the above programmes we have conducted 05 Agri. EDPs, 01 Product EDP, 06

RUDSET Institute, Mysuru Activities Report 2020-21 Process EDPs and 08 General EDPs. Of the 467 trained candidates 119 are trained under Agri. EDPs, 21 are trained under Product EDPs, 142 are trained under Process EDP and 185 under General EDPs.

Post training follow-up for two years is our Unique Selling Proposition (USP) RUDSETI training. During this year good number of candidates are settled under various ventures. About 339 candidates settled this year rising our overall settlement rate is 73%. We could conduct 39 number of follow-up meetings to cover 637 candidates.

Out of 20-Self-Employment training programmes conducted, 01 was sponsored by Bank Note Paper Mill India Pvt Ltd., Mysuru and 04 programmes were sponsored by NAR. We could conduct 03 programmes under PMEGP under the sponsorship from KVIC, Bengaluru covering 49 candidates.

Rural Development being our main motto, during this year we could cover candidates from rural area, 22 from semi-urban sector and 71 from urban sector. Of the total participants of 467, around 80% candidates were from rural area, 4.71% from semi- urban and 15.20% were from Urban area making it real rural development this year

Out of the total 467 trained candidates Category wise break-up of candidates as follows, SC-146 (31.26%), ST-47 (10%), OBC-199(42.61%), Minorities-15(3.21%). 60 from Other category (12.85%). Of the total 467 candidates 441 are from BPL category (94.43)

During this year we could conduct 37 Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme covers 2060 beneficiaries. We could also conduct 14 Sensitisation Programmes covering 5060 officials and general public and 01 Entrepreneurship Orientation Programmes covering 550 women beneficieries. We could conduct 03 HRD programmes benefitting candidates.

Looking into the gender wise training participation, of the total number of 467 trained candidates 223 are women candidates (48%) and 244 are men (52%). We h conducted 03 DLRAC meetings during this financial year.

We are happy to inform that during this year we could conduct 04 innovative/ training programmes under self-employment.04 General EDPs for the benefit of 110 Women under Mission One GP One BC Sakhi sponsored by MoRD. In which is mandatory to undergo online IIBF exam on the 07th day of the programme. All the trained candidates have successfully passed the exam.

We have conducted a unique programme in association with LBO, Mysuru aware camp on Financial Literacy sponsored by RBI in which 95 participants comprising SHG women members, College Students, Teachers, Lecturers, FLCC Councilors, Bank Executives. The programme was Chaired by AGM, LBO, SBI, Mysuru, DDM, NABARD, DM, Canara Bank, Mysuru. The programme has gained wide media publicity.

Canara Bank, RO-II, Mysuru we could conduct a meaningful and excellent programme on occasion of “International Women’s Day” in which 550 girl students have participated. The programme was sponsored by our Canara Bank and gained wide publicity.

RUDSETI, Mysuru had installed stalls at Chamarajanagara and Mysuru in two place the Udyoga Melas conducted and mobilized 500+number of applications for different skill training programmes.

Innovative/New Programme

Mission One GP One BC Sakhi is one of the unique programme sponsored by MoRD to empower the women by training them and giving opportunity to work as Bank Correspondent in the rural areas there by achieving the goals of RBI & Ministry towards Hundred Percent Financial Inclusion in the country by providing Banking Facilities to the rural community at minimal cost. The objective of the programme is to identify the rural women who are in the SHGs and involved in the NRLM-Sanjeevini scheme. They will be identified by the Gram Pannchayath based on their previous performance and their proficiency in handle smartphones as an additional and desirable qualification. The women in the age group of 18 to 45 years. The identified women will undergo 06-days residential training programme at RSETIs/RUDSETIs to know about the basics of the Banking System in our country will be taught about Motivation, Communication Skills, History and General Banking Industry in our country, different types of deposit schemes, different types of advances. the roles & responsibility of RBI, NABARD, concept of Financial Inclusion and the working nature of RRB & PSBs, Interest subversion, Role of BCs, Dos & Don’t s of BCs, different types of the organisations involved/identified with the Banking Industry, KYC Norms and Govt Sponsored Schemes. IIBF has made mandatory for the trainees to appear for online IIBF exam on 07th day of the training programme with a minimum passing mark of 40. Later they receive certificates for having passed the examination. We are happy to inform that all the candidates trained in 04-batches have successfully passed the exam with average marks of 60. The programme is sponsored by MoRD and implemented through National Academy of RUDSETI, Bengaluru.
