Due to the success of our Preseason Guide, we decided to handcraft a special Preseason “Welcome” Guide, that is, an eBook dedicated to informing Steelers Nation of all of the newly signed players wearing a Steelers uniform this season. Once again the Steelers only dipped their toes into free agency, so while there aren’t many new faces, there are quite a few who could have an immediate impact on the team; including Pittsburgh’s first three draft picks. Our guide will begin with free agent signings, followed by the 2016 NFL Draft selections. Other notable players in camp, if included, are listed after those subsets of players. (Note: due to the nature of “camp bodies,” or, players who are on the 90 man offseason roster, but unlikely to be in contention for a spot on the active roster and/or practice squad after the preseason, their names have not been includ- ed, but may be added as position battles heat up, so stayed tuned for updates to this guide as the preseason progress- es. A reduced 75-man roster is included in the appendix.)     NFL TO HOST COMMUNITY EVENTS ACROSS ARLINGTON, DALLAS & SURROUNDING AREAS THROUGHOUT DRAFT WEEK Free events, community activities to reach thousands of Texas residents The impact of the 2018 NFL Draft will extend far beyond AT&T Stadium through the NFL’s many community events planned for Draft week across Arlington, Dallas and the surrounding communities. From youth football clinics to character-building initiatives, military appreciation and school celebrations, thousands of local children and their families will experience the excitement of Draft through a series of free events. The following are some of the ways that the NFL, Dallas Cowboys and partners will celebrate Draft week and leave a positive legacy in Dallas. Full details on each of these events and participating players will be available via media advisories during Draft week. NFL Draft Fuel Up to Play 60 Touchdown Celebration Nearly 500 students from Dallas-Fort Worth area elementary schools will come to AT&T Stadium on Tuesday, April 24 from 10 AM – 12 PM for a youth health and wellness celebration hosted by the Dallas Cowboys, Dairy MAX, NFL and Fuel Up to Play 60. The celebration honors schools and students that have achieved Touchdown status with Fuel Up to Play 60, successfully completing the program. Fuel Up to Play 60 features six steps focused on fueling up with healthy foods to have the energy for 60 minutes of activity. Student teams will participate in a pep rally and a physical activity that reinforces the program’s healthy message. Activities will be led by Dallas Cowboys Legends DEMARCUS WARE and BRADIE JAMES, along with representatives from USA Football and featuring CHARLOTTE JONES ANDERSON and Fuel Up to Play 60 NFL Draft Ambassador and Frisco Heritage High School student, TRINITY WILLIAMS.

The defense had one of the best country and has already proven to be a relentless and effective recruiter.

    Seton Hall Sports Poll PUBLIC SAYS OBAMA A BETTER SPORTSMAN, WOULD BE A BETTER FOOTBALL COACH THAN ROMNEY Independent Voters Also Favor President on Both Questions S. Orange, NJ, September 28, 2012 – President Obama is seen as showing better sportsmanship than his opponent Mitt Romney, according to a poll conducted this week by the Seton Hall Sports Poll. Asked “regardless of whom you support, which candidate do you think shows better sportsmanship,” 53% said Obama, 29% said Romney, and 18% had no opinion. And while partisan politics may have affected that reading, the results from respondents who identified themselves as independent may be more telling: 58% said Obama showed better sportsmanship, 28% Romney, and 14% had no opinion. The poll was conducted among 688 randomly selected people across the country, including people on cell phones, of whom 487 said they followed sports at least somewhat. The poll has a margin of error of 3.8%; 4.5% for sports fans. The poll also found that to the question “which candidate do you think would make a better football coach,” Obama drew 48% to Romney’s 30%, and a wider margin among independents, 52% - 31%. Asked which party has more of the “win at all costs” attitude commonly associated with sports, 43% said Republicans, 36% Democrats, and among independents it was 48% to 38% for the Republicans. (The margin of error for independent voters was 5.9%). “One might expect partisan responses to these questions, so the results among independents is especially telling,” noted Rick Gentile, director of the poll, which is conducted by the Sharkey Institute.
