A YEAR of VICTORIES! DUNLOP Celebrates a Year of Champions IN TOUCH MOTORSPORT NEWS ISSUE 9 DECEMBER ’09 A YEAR OF VICTORIES! DUNLOP CELEBRATES A YEAR OF CHAMPIONS DOWNLOAD IMAGE WELCOME TO OUR FINAL EDITION OF IN TOUCH FOR 2009 It’s been an incredible year for Dunlop Motorsport both on two and four wheels. The Dunlop Motorsport service teams have been working hard across the globe and have proved instrumental in delivering countless race and championship victories for our racing partners and customers. Our success has been shown not only by the winners of this year, but by the increasing number of new teams signing up to race with us for 2010, along with exciting new championships which have chosen Dunlop as their exclusive partner including the new Moto2 class in GP and the 24HR of Dubai. For our final In Touch we want to share some of this year’s victories with you. With over 80 Championships won on two wheels alone it would be impossible to show them all, so please find here a small selection of some of our proudest moments of 2009. We look forward to seeing you at the track next year to share in more success with us. Audi MediaInfo Motorsport Communications Virginia Brusch Phone: +49 151 52817968 E-mail: [email protected] www.audi-mediacenter.com/en Farewell: Audi RS 5 DTM breaks numerous records • 28 victories, 95 podiums and six DTM championship titles in just two years • Audi RS 5 DTM dominates the Class 1 era with its TFSI technology • Specific consumption under full load improved by around ten percent Neuburg a. d. Donau, November 12, 2020 – 28 victories, 95 podiums, 29 pole positions, 28 fastest race laps and all six championship titles: The Audi RS 5 DTM, which completed its last race at the Hockenheimring last Sunday, has set numerous records in just two years. Thanks in part to its efficiency, it is one of the most successful race cars in the history of the DTM, which will be staged with GT3 cars from 2021. Due to the corona pandemic, 2020 was the most compact DTM season ever: There were only 100 days between the season opener at Spa and the finale at Hockenheim. In only 50 days and already six races before the end of the season, Audi won the manufacturers’ title – a record, possibly for eternity. With more than 610 hp, the four-cylinder turbo of the Audi RS 5 DTM was not only the most powerful engine in the company’s DTM history, but also the most efficient. Thanks to the combination of turbocharging with gasoline direct injection (TFSI), which is also widely used in series production at Audi, the specific consumption in the speed range under full load was improved by around ten percent compared to the old V8 engine, thus significantly reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

In the year of the company’s most extensive motorsport programme ever the motorsport squad headed by Dr Wolfgang Ullrich thus has the chance to achieve a historically outstanding tally of success in the sport. Sunday, 5 October 2008, 3:13 p.m.: on a single weekend, Audi clinches two victories that are linked to the magic name of Le Mans. At the French “Circuit Bugatti”, at the tenth race of the DTM, Audi factory driver Mattias Ekström in the A4 DTM crosses the finish line in first place with a 4.25-second lead. The day before, Dindo Capello/Allan McNish/Emanuele Pirro in the Audi R10 TDI at the “Petit Le Mans” race at Road Atlanta in the U.S. state of Georgia have already clinched victory ahead of rival Peugeot after a remarkable recovery. The two events have notable parallels: in both cases Audi’s victories are associated with “Le Mans”, in both cases the respective main rival is defeated in a direct fight – in the DTM it is overall runner-up Paul di Resta in the Mercedes, in the ALMS it is Peugeot.

Audi MediaInfo Motorsport Communications Virginia Brusch Tel: +49 151 52817968 E-mail: [email protected] www.audi -mediacenter.com/en René Rast: “I see my future in the DTM” • The 2019 DTM Champion in an extensive interview before the season’s finale Neuburg a. d. Donau, September 25, 2019 – Audi driver René Rast secured an early DTM title win in the season’s third from last race. In an extensive interview, the 2019 DTM Champion reveals why, in spite of his early success, fans should not miss the finale at Hockenheim on the first weekend in October, what records he is interested in, what the secret of his success is and how he spent the days following his title win. How does being a two-time DTM Champion feel? It’s a great feeling – and totally different from what I felt when I won my first DTM title in 2017. The title at that time came somewhat unexpectedly. The surprise was immense. This year, I was able to mentally prepare myself because I was touted as a favorite. Even so, it’s an awesome feeling. It’s one of the biggest motorsport moments in my life. When I entered the DTM I didn’t expect to clinch two titles within the space of three years. How was the party following your title win at the Nürburgring? It was one of the coolest parties I’ve seen at Audi Sport so far. We partied really hard at the Audi Hospitality until about three, three thirty in the morning. How did you spend the days after your title win? Fortunately, in a relatively quiet way.
