NO. 306 >>SEPTEMBER – OCTOBER 2010 NATIONAL SERVICE MEMORIAL AUSTRALIAN KINGFISHERS LONG WEEKEND FLOWERS OF COCOS (KEELING) ISLANDS WILDLIFE CARING RESCUE TO RELEASE CANONISATION OF MARY MACKILLOP AUSTRALIAN ANTARCTIC TERRITORY MACQUARIE ISLAND Dear Collector Welcome to the September edition of the Stamp Bulletin. The first thing that has probably struck you with regard to this Bulletin is the magnificent illustration of the Red Back Kingfisher by wildlife artist Christopher Pope on the cover. Australia is very fortunate to have both a diverse and beautiful range of birdlife. Christopher’s skill enabled him to capture the incredible detail of the Australian Kingfishers issue due out 26 October. I believe this is one of his best stamp issues to date, and possibly my favourite of 2010. Of course, there are a number of other very special stamp issues © Copyright 2010 Australian Postal in this edition. To begin with, we commemorate the opening of the Corporation. All rights reserved. Boer Goats Schedule
Boer Goats Schedule 2019 Competitions Welcome from the President Our Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) competitions are the ultimate showcase of the best of the best. They reward and recognise our valued exhibitors for achieving excellence and promote agriculture and the critical role it plays in our everyday lives to Queenslanders. In 2018, more than 4,125 exhibitors travelled to the Ekka for their chance to win a coveted blue ribbon and share in the $530,000 prize pool, including 1,186 new competitors. We received 21,000 entries across 11,000 classes in 48 competition sections, with an increase in entries across many categories including Canine, Cookery, Dairy Goats, Education on Show, Poultry and Farriers and Blacksmiths. It was pleasing to see large crowds acknowledging the achievements of our exhibitors, with more than 414,000 people attending the 2018 show - our biggest Ekka since 2011. Some of our competitions were even recognised at the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) Awards, which represents more than 1,100 fairs around the world. The Ekka won 24 international awards including 16 first places, with the Floristry, Race Around Ekka, Little Sprouts, Cookery and Student Made Cheese competitions all placing. The RNA is also committed to providing exhibitors with world-class facilities to use, through our $2.9 billion Brisbane Showgrounds Regeneration Project. In 2019, our Canine Competition exhibitors will use the new Alexandria Park, offering an undercover area for benching and a grassed area for judging. Also this year, all four storeys of our world first animal pavilion will be in use for the very first time, housing many animals including beef and dairy cattle, poultry and sheep. -

2021 Creative Art and Craft Schedule
Creative Art and Craft Schedule 2021 Competitions Welcome from the President Our competitions have been showcasing the very best of Queensland since the first Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) in 1876. Competitions are the heart of the Show, rewarding and recognising our exhibitors, and highlighting the vital role agriculture plays in our everyday lives. As you know, due to the impacts of COVID-19, we made the decision last year to cancel the 2020 Ekka. Remarkably, we were able to run eight of our competition sections in a modified format during the worldwide pandemic. More than 3,300 competition entries were received, which was pleasing to see during such an uncertain and challenging year. Our Young Judges, Digital Photography and Bush Poetry competitions were moved online, introducing a new audience to our much-loved Ekka traditions. The Digital Photography Competition was hugely successful, attracting 1,850 entries - up an incredible 2,000 per cent on 2019. We are planning for the gates to open this August and are delighted all 42 of our competition sections will return for Ekka 2021. Our virtual competitions will also stay, as we continue to embrace the digital age to expand the growth and reach of our traditions. In 2021, the Show will open on a Saturday (August 7), running for nine days instead of 10, maintaining two full weekends and the Ekka public holiday. We remain committed to showcasing our wonderful agricultural traditions and look forward to bringing our exhibitors back together again to celebrate what makes Queensland great. Good luck with your entries and we look forward to seeing you at our fantastic comeback 2021 Royal Queensland Show. -
NAB Agribusiness Contacts
Pioneering Natural Value NAB Agribusiness Calendar 2015 The 2015 NAB Agribusiness Calendar celebrates NAB’s ongoing support for natural value. A healthy economy and healthy environment go hand-in-hand, and natural value is all about taking advantage of new opportunities that arise from an increased focus on natural capital and the environment – whether that be water and energy efficiency or advances in pest and waste management. That’s why NAB has established a Natural Value strategy, which focuses on better understanding and managing our own natural capital risks, and backing businesses to do the same. Australian farmers recognise more than anyone the importance of balancing environmental and sustainability concerns with their business operations. There is no shortage of exciting opportunities ahead as we see Australian agribusinesses increasingly taking advantage of sustainability issues that were once considered solely a risk, and leveraging new business opportunities that arise. Having supported Australian farmers and agribusinesses for over 155 years, we understand the important role our farmers play in the progress of natural value. I’m proud NAB was one of the first banks in the world to sign up to the Natural Capital Declaration to build on our understanding of the value natural capital brings to our economy. As we look to 2015, we wish all farmers a prosperous and successful year, and our team looks forward to working with you to take advantage of the opportunities ahead.
