Nebraska won the 2003 regular-season championship, and Baylor, Missouri, Nebraska, and Texas A&M netted at-large bids. For the second time since 1999 (Oklahoma State and Texas A&M), the Big 12 advanced two teams to the NCAA World Series in 2002. Nebraska also became the first member of the Big 12 Conference in 2001 and ’02 to make back-to-back appearances in the nearby CWS since Oklahoma in 1994 and ’95. Teams from the Big 12 closed at a record 21-12 (.636) in complete 2002 NCAA activity with a composite 8-4 mark (4-2 in the Super Regionals and 4-2 in the World Series) over the final two weeks of the campaign.
