    By the Chair of SACRE Hounslow Annual Report 2011-12 Hounslow SACRE has had another busy and interesting year. Collective Worship has again been the target of Freedom of Information requests and we have been rigorous in applying our published procedures to any requests from schools. The procedures when followed should ensure that governors and parents have been properly consulted and that the school is preparing to deliver an appropriate programme of collective worship for the pupils of the school and that the school is complying with legal requirements. Our 6th form conference was, once again very successful and we are grateful for the contribution of the RS students and their lecturers at the Institute of Education. The quality and variety of debate and experience makes this a highlight in the school year. We have been much concerned this year by the omission of RE from the English Baccalaureate and although we have heard the protestations from the DfE that because RE is statutory it will retain its place in the secondary school curriculum we remain concerned that its omission will inevitably lessen the take-up as schools concentrate scare resources on those subjects which make up the E Bacc and so will be reported in league tables. We will continue to monitor the provision in Hounslow schools.     Lampton (London West Alliance) ITE Partnership Initial teacher education inspection report Inspection dates Stage 1: 23 June 2018 Stage 2: 19 November 2018 This inspection was carried out by one Ofsted Inspector and two of Her Majesty’s Inspectors in accordance with the ‘Initial teacher education inspection handbook’. This handbook sets out the statutory basis and framework for initial teacher education (ITE) inspections in England from September 2015. The inspection draws on evidence within the ITE partnership to make judgements against all parts of the evaluation schedule. Inspectors focused on the overall effectiveness of the ITE partnership in securing high-quality outcomes for trainees. The outcomes for trainees 2 The quality of training across the 2 partnership The quality of leadership and management across the 2 partnership The secondary phase Information about the secondary partnership Lampton (London West Alliance) partnership is a provider of school-centred initial teacher training (SCITT), which provides secondary teacher training for graduates. Successful trainees are recommended for qualified teacher status (QTS). The SCITT has provided initial teacher education (ITE) since September 2016. It has offered School Direct, School Direct (Salaried) and Researchers in Schools routes to QTS. It has not been inspected previously. The SCITT works alongside the Lampton Teaching School Alliance and is based on the same site. In 2017/18 there were 16 schools in the partnership, with 33 trainees specialising in a range of secondary subjects.

Please provide as a spreadsheet with school name, pollution level, and any location information such as borough. This data is available on the London datastore. The most recent available data is from the London Atmospheric Emission Inventory (LAEI) 2016 and was published in April 2019. The data used for the 2018 report is LAEI 2013. Please find attached a list and a summary of all Educational Establishments in London and NO2 levels based on both the LAEI 2013 update and LAEI 2016. The list has been taken from the register of educational establishments in England and Wales, maintained by the Department for Education, and provides information on establishments providing compulsory, higher and further education. It was downloaded on 21/03/2019, just before the release of the LAEI 2016. The attached spreadsheet has recently been published as part of the LAEI 2016 stats on Datastore here.

The group was affiliated to the Inter-Faith Network and met six times per year. It had received funding from the Metropolitan Police in the Borough and the Home Office, which would assist with the administrative costs of running the organisation and with particular projects such as the Youth Forum and the directory of places of worship.

    English – Key to Integration in London Project Lead: Stefani Shedden Project Title: EAL in the Mainstream Classroom Subject: Level 2 training to develop specialist practitioners at Heston Community School Key Stage: 3-4 Grant Awarded: £111,983.52 Introductory paragraph Heston Community has the largest cohort of EAL pupils in the borough of Hounslow at 60%. It is a good school that wants to further improve outcomes for EAL pupils. In particular, by improving teachers’ ability to plan and assess classroom learning across the curriculum, maximising EAL pupils’ academic language skills, and also by enhancing pupils’ readiness to learn by building their independence. The four teachers who took part in this programme were expected to disseminate their learning school-wide. Key points The four staff involved have varied roles, spanning curriculum and pastoral. The teams they work with thus benefit indirectly from the training including: Science, Maths and English curriculum teams Year 8 pastoral team 6th form pastoral team Withdrawal support teams for Language and Communication, New Arrivals, Low Achievers In-class support team (TAs) As a result, pupils across the curriculum, across year groups and of all abilities have benefitted. Impact on teachers All four teachers attended the EAL L2 programme, which tackled how to meet the needs of EAL pupils, and also how to support the professional development of colleagues. As well as completing 3.5 days of training, the teachers had an in-school support visit from the Hounslow Language Service, which included a lesson visit and meeting with line manager. The outcome of the training led to improved tools and practice including: Science teacher and EAL science specific resources, shared with Science Dept pastoral lead (Y8) and More informed Year 8 book reviews Improved Y8 differentiation and planning for EAL Support for Y8 teachers on EAL provision HLTA EAL strategies applied both to pupils in withdrawal groups and also in-class support.
