Grants to State Library Administrative Agencies The Library Grants to States Program, supported by the Library Grants to States Awards (LSTA): Services and Technology Act (LSTA), is IMLS's largest program and FY 2011-2016 provides grants to every state using a population-based formula. State Library Administrative Agencies (SLAAs) provide IMLS with a five-year FY 2016 $3.26 M plan and use subawards and statewide projects to improve library services. FY 2015 $3.30 M In FY 2014, IMLS’s $3.28 million grant to the SLAA leveraged FY 2014 $3.28 M approximately $2.27 million in support from the state that year for library services through the SLAA.

    Margit Koller: Expansion in Sculpture – Site-specific Installation, Environment and the Non-autonomous Artwork Report about my research program in New York, supported by the Peter and Irene Ludwig Foundation, 2018 September Expansion in Sculpture – Site-specific Installation, Environment and the Non- autonomous Artwork Virginia Dwan and the Dwan Gallery. Introduction I spent one month in New York in September 2018, thanks to the researcher scholarship of Peter and Irene Ludwig Foundation. In my workplan my focus was tended onto monumental sculpture, site-specific installation and environmental art, as well as the public sculpture, with the connection between the financial possibilities and artistic freedom. In addition, I always examine the spatial art in the relation of the artwork with its surrounding space and the perceptual skills and possibilities of the viewer. During my stay in New York I was visiting museums, collections, galleries and public parks inside the city and around and in Washington DC, which support site-specific and monumental spatial art in temporary exhibitions or permanent collections (open for the public). I visited loads of colossal and inspiring places, but because of the limit of the report I only write about my most important experiences which are directly connect to both of my research and creative process. (My experiences about the public sculpture could fill another 10-page long report1). As I’m writing my report three weeks after my arriving, the language may mirror my relation to my fresh discoveries, experiences and spontaneous recognitions.

I felt so much respect for Warhol then and I was totally emotional in front of these Shadows: the first time shown as a complete piece as the original concept of Warhol. ” - Budi Tek, founder of Yuz Museum and Yuz Foundation -- -“a monument to impermanence” made by the “King of Pop”; - the most mysterious work of Warhol that offers profound and immersive experiences; - another ground-breaking one-piece work after the Rain Room at Yuz Museum; an important work from the collection of Dia Art Foundation; - Asian premiere after touring world’s top museums New York Dia: Beacon, Paris Museum of Modern Art and Bilbao Guggenheim; - a conversation between 1970s’Shadows and young artists of OVERPOP after 2010 -- Yuz Museum is proud to organize for the first time in Asia, the Chinese premiere of Shadows by Andy Warhol: “a monument to impermanence” (Holland Cotter, New-York Times). Shadows is valued as the most mysterious work by Andy Warhol, the most influential artist of the 20th century, “the King of Pop”, that shows the unknown side of the artist. The exhibition is presented in collaboration with the globally acclaimed Dia Art Foundation, New York. It opens at Yuz Museum, Shanghai on Saturday, 29th October, 2016. In 1978, at age 50, Andy Warhol embarked upon the production of a monumental body of work titled Shadows with the assistance of his entourage at the Factory.

    CONNECTING TO COLLECTIONS PENNSYLVANIA a five-year preservation plan for Pennsylvania PROJECT OVERVIEW Imagining Our Future: Preserving Pennsylvania’s Collections, published in August 2009, includes an in-depth analysis of conditions and needs at Pennsylvania’s collecting institutions, a detailed preservation plan to improve collections care throughout the state, and a five-year implementation timetable (2010-2015). The analysis concludes that many of Pennsylvania’s most important historic holdings must be considered at risk. Millions of items comprise these collections, and the financial resources available to care for them are limited and shrinking. Pennsylvania is a state vibrant with world-class art museums, libraries, historic sites. Arts and culture play a substantial role in creating business, jobs, and bringing revenue into the state and stewardship of its artifacts is too important —to the state, to the people, to the history of country—to be ignored. This call to action is a rallying cry for all future generations of Pennsylvanians. With generous support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and in close partnership with three leading preservation organizations, the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC), the Pennsylvania Federation of Museums and Historical Organizations (PFMHO), and LYRASIS, the Conservation Center for Arts & Historic Artifacts organized and led the assessment and planning process. The project was capably guided by a Task Force with representatives from the Office of (PA) Commonwealth Libraries, the Western Pennsylvania Museum Council, the Pennsylvania Caucus of the Mid- Atlantic Regional Archives Conference, Pennsylvania State University, the Philadelphia Area Consortium of Special Collections Libraries, the University of Pittsburgh, and Carnegie Mellon University.

    African American Community Service Agency Event: Juneteenth Grant will support the 39th Juneteenth Festival on June 20, 2020 at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez in downtown San Jose. Juneteenth recognizes the emancipation of slaves in the United States and is celebrated annually in more than 200 cities across the country. The event includes music, ethnic food, dance, and art for all ages. Aimusic School Event: Aimusic International Festival Grant will support the Aimusic International Festival: Intangible Chinese Heritage Celebration on April 25 through May 2, 2020 at San Jose Community College, California Theater, and San Jose State University. The festival promotes traditional Chinese music and performing arts. Almaden Valley Women's Club Event: Almaden Valley Art and Wine Festival Grant will support the 43rd annual Almaden Valley Art and Wine Festival on September 15, 2019 at Almaden Lake Park. The festival includes juried arts and crafts with over 90 artists, international food, local entertainment, and a children’s area of arts, crafts, and sports activities. Asian American Center of Santa Clara County (AASC) Event: Santa Clara County Fairgrounds TET Festival Grant request to support the 38th annual TET festival at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds on January 25 and 26, 2020. The event celebrates the lunar new year, preserves, and promotes Vietnamese culture, raises funds for under-privileged youth and encourages youth leadership development and community involvement. Bay Area Cultural Connections (BayCC) Event: International Children’s Festival Grant will support the International Children’s Festival in April 2020 at Discovery Meadow Park in San Jose. The festival has been organized as a flagship event which brings families of different cultures together.
