Yes, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences has updated the M.Pharm regulations. Sailent aspects,  Common syllabus for all M.Pharm programmes was designed for Pharmaceutical Analysis in Semester I.  One new practical subject is introduced in I and II semester of all M.Pharm Programmes.

6. Governance, Leadership and Management

6.1 State the Vision and Mission of the institution

• Industry orientation programme was organized to create bridge between academia and industry for Final year B.Pharm, M. Phram, and Pharm D students.

• To manage the stress in regular life we organized ‘Stress Management’ for faculty • For improvement in teaching we introduced ‘Teaching Learning Programme’ for teaching faculty. • A medical shop under the scheme Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana was started at our hospital.

Best Practice 1: Industry Orientation Programme

1. Goal

The programme was conducted with a goal to orient the knowledge of graduating students with industrial skills.

2. The Context The idea was to provide a platform to students where they can interact with experts from industry and corporate to gain an insight on the working culture of Pharmaceutical Industry and the skills required to achieve higher professional status in Pharmaceutical Industry and corporate.

3. The Practice

A group of Experts working in different areas of pharmaceutical industry and corporate shared their experiences about working in different areas such as Manufacturing, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Management, Finance and Auditing, Regulatory Affair, Clinical Trails and Pharmacovigilance. At the end of the programme an industrial trip was organized.

4. Evidence of Success

 The students were able to decide their professional area independtly.  It generated interest among students to study further to gain skills required to work in the area of their interest.  Problems Encountered and Resources Required

Best Practice 2:

Establishment of Medical Store under Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana at Basaveshwara Medical College Hospital and Research Centre.

1. Goal The goal was to provide medications to patients at least possible price.

2. The Context Government of India launched a scheme for supply of medicines at very low cost to make the medications affordable to poor people. The scheme is known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana. Under this scheme we can start a pharmacy store to which the supply of drugs and other pharmaceuticals will be from Government of India at subsidized rate. Thus making the drugs more affordable to poor people.

3. The Practice A new medical store under the above said scheme is started at Basaveshwara Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. The stock is availed from Government of India approved stockiest at subsidized rate as per the directions of doctors at hospital and is dispensed to patients at the subsidized cost fixed by Government of India.

4. Evidence of Success

The sale of drugs is increasing day by day due to the lower cost.
