Students took a welcome break from revision and exams to enjoy a chance to dress up, dine and dance. One highlight of the evening was the presentation of Yr 13 Awards including "Most Likely to be Famous" (awarded to Vincent Weight), "The Next Einstein" (awarded to John Lamb) and "First to Make a Million" (awarded to Sam Jaffer). Many staff arrived later in the evening to wish the students well and, as the evening drew to a close, it was lovely to hear from the hotel staff that they had enjoyed the evening too, as our students were such a lovely group who were a credit to the school. To see a group photo from the evening visit the school website: http://www.bingleygrammar.org/latest-news/yr-13-leavers-ball/ Duke of The Bronze Duke of Edinburgh training expedition was a success with 50 pupils completing the two day Edinburgh walk from Harewood to Burley Woodhead before half term. Bingley Harriers and Athletics Club, Bingley Amateur Swimming Club and Friends of Bingley Pool are the organisers and it promises to be a fun afternoon with food stalls, brass band etc. If you would like to take part please see Mr McGregor for an application form. I am always amazed by our students’ efforts during exam season and this year is no exception. Our GCSE, AS and A Level students have been putting in masses of time and effort and I am sure their end results will reflect this. We have also been busy in other areas of school with Duke of Edinburgh awards and Artsmark awards. We are also beginning a new scheme in school called the Brilliant Club which is an organisation whose aim it is to open up opportunities for students to attend events at selective universities and develop aspiration among them to work for and apply for these institutions. More information will follow on this soon. Well done to all our students and staff who are dedicating themselves to these projects. Luke Weston – Head teacher .
