swsibley @ msn.com 2564 Industry Lane I East Norriton, PA J9403 King of Prussia Players www.kofpplayers.org Directed by JOE CIRESI I am thrilled to have directed , an extremely important show in Broadway Produced by LAURA GARIFO Musical Theater history. I thank Ron Kurowski for his insights into this show from the Music Director: KEITH S. CLATTENBURG perspective of a 14 year A Chorus line veteran, and for his clear and thoughtful feedback Choreographer: Nicole Mesiono into the emotional backstory of each character, the vision of Michael Bennett, and for welcoming us into the Chorus line family. Ron pointed out to the cast and staff that this is actually a play, based on the real lives of a group of Broadway dancers, which was developed into an ensemble show with some music, song and , but not a musical in how we understood musicals to be in 1975. As a dancer, I relate to the role of a dancer in a production, never the lead, but someone that supports and frames the leads. This peek into the lives and stories of these performers has moved each of us and similarly forever changed American musical theater.

Four days after we started rehearsing for A Chorus Line, we received news that had died. His sudden death added new meaning to the cast and staff, so we are dedicating our production to him, to honor his work on this show.

Like other directors before me have stated, the casting process for this show was the most challenging part. I was excited to hear that for most cast members, they were cast their dream role, which I feel is reflected in their performances. Having to be triple threats (actor, singer and dancer) has been quite demanding, and I am impressed with the enthusiasm and skill everyone shared in the rehearsal process. I thank this amazing PERfORMANCE DATES cast, with whom I call friends, for putting yourselves on the line and moving out of your AND TIMES comfort zone by emotionally exploring your characters, and for actively engaging in the creative process. Thank you for allowing me to direct you. Most of the cast shared with ~ii3~~ me how they personally relate to their character and this show, and for this I am 2 I , grateful. I would like to thank the ensemble, not chosen for the line, but who have I immensely given to the show. I would like to thank my incredible production team I ..
