Kevin Kane was the founder and past president of the Pelican Institute for Public Policy. He was a key initiator of criminal justice reform efforts in Louisiana that has led to successful, bipartisan endeavors to counter the cycle of recidivism.
In October 2016, Kevin lost his courageous battle with cancer. LFF President, Gene Mills, made a pledge to continue the work Kevin began and is honored to recognize his legacy with the Kevin Kane Justice Award. We honor the advocates who work tirelessly to reform our justice system while respecting families impacted by crime.
