UNIFIED - DISTRICT INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR EDUCATION 2014-15 Educational Block – Behala West ANALYSIS AND PUBLISHED BY MIS DEPARTMENT, SARVA SHIKSHA MISSION, KOLKATA DATA SOURCE: U-DISE 2014-15, CIRCLE – BEHALAWEST Foreword Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (Sarva Shiksha Mission in West Bengal) is an integrated National flagship programme for Universalization of Elementary Education (UEE) in the country. It is devoted to achieve the goal like Universal access, Universal Enrolment, 100% retention, equity and providing quality of Education. And it is also a project for the compliance of RTE and it is so named SSA-RTE under the guidance of School Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal. Analysis of Educational Development Parameters is the most effective way for monitoring Educational Planning and Administration, from which we will be able to know the present status of Education in a District or a Sub district level (Circle Level). It also reflects the outcome/achievement of SSM as well as statement of need for the betterment like requirement of infrastructure, teacher, necessary training to the teachers etc. And also we will be able to compare the Educational status of two consecutive years for District or a Particular Circle. In this document we will study the Educational Status of the Circle BEHALA WEST (Covers KMC Ward 125 to 132 of Behala Paschim Constituency except KMC Wards 118 and 119). KMC Ward 118 and 119 are documented in the Book of Circle-Behala. We have tried to represent in diagrammatically and also an informative way. All the Information used in this Report are provided by the respective schools in the DCF of Unified District Information System for Education (U-DISE), 2014-15. U-DISE is an important tool under the Department of MIS (Management Information System) for the purpose of serving relevant information to the Administration. Management information system, or MIS, broadly refers to a computer-based system that provides managers with the tools to organize, evaluate and efficiently manage departments within an organization. In order to provide past, present and prediction information, a management information system can include software that helps in decision making, data resources such as databases, the hardware resources of a system, decision support systems, people management and project management applications, and any computerized processes that enable the department to run efficiently. DISE It is a statistical system developed for collection, computerization, analysis and use of educational and allied data for planning, management, monitoring and feedback. So, DISE is an initiative of the Department of Educational Management Information System (EMIS) of NUEPA for developing and strengthening the educational management information system in India. The initiative is coordinated from district level to state and extended up to national level are being constantly collected and disseminated. It provides information on vital parameters relating to students, teachers and infrastructure at all levels of education in India. Presently DISE has three modules U- DISE, DISE, and SEMIS. DISE also provides several other derivative statistical products, such as, District Report Cards, State Report Cards, School Report Cards, Flash Statistics, Analytical Reports, Rural/Urban Statistics, etc. DISE ANALYSIS 2014-15 P a g e | 4 CIRCLE – BEHALAWEST 2.
