The renewal date is the start of the new zone period and is the start of charges. To enable residents to have the permits by this date these permits will be issued approximately 15 days earlier as listed in the center column, but will be chargeable as listed below. The second allocation of Visitors’ Parking Permits are available after 6 months but again these can be issued 15 days earlier as specified above and are chargeable as listed below.

2. Visitors’ Parking Permits Each resident of an eligible property (except certain Central area properties) may apply for 25 visitors’ parking permits during the permit year free of charge. A second allocation of 25 will be available after 6 months and are charged at a rate of £20.00.

Any resident over the age of 70 years is eligible for both first and second allocations free of charge. (Proof of age is required when applying for the second allocation of 25).

2.1 Visitors’ Parking Permits A visitors’ parking permit must have the applicable boxes removed to validate it for a period of 24 hours. It must be left visible on the dashboard of the vehicle for the Civil Enforcement Officer to verify.

3. Residents Parking Permits The charge for an annual permit will normally be £60.00 for each of the first two vehicles. Only in zones where more than 2 vehicles are permitted, the 3rd permit will be £120.00 and 4th and subsequent permits will cost £180.00. All applications from zones around will be £15.00 each. If a permit is purchased part way through a year, a reduced rate based on the number of full plus part months is made as listed below.

There are no charges for replacement permits due to a change of vehicle or for permits lost or damaged. When a permit is no longer required a refund will be made for each full unexpired month on production of the permit at the Parking Shop.

4. On street penalty charges The charge for infringement of the regulations is varied however they are discounted by 50% if paid within 14 days. If payment is not made within the 28 days after issue, a Notice to Owner will be issued to the registered owners address and further charges may be imposed thereafter.

5. Bus gate penalty charges The normal charge for infringement of the regulations is £60.00 but this is discounted to £30.00 if paid within 14 days. If payment is not made within the 28 days after issue further charges may be imposed thereafter.
