Jon Secada’s Latest Album “Same Dream” Features Musicians from The IBEX Company FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tampa, Florida Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter Jon Secada’s newest album “Same Dream” features the lush string melodies performed by Tampa area musicians, including those from The IBEX Company. IBEX founder Eric Nordstrom (www.EricNordstrom.com) served as Concertmaster for the multi-day studio recording sessions for Mr. Secada in the St. Petersburg-based BIG 3 Recording Studios. Additionally, IBEX’s Marketing Director, Charleene Closshey (violinist, www.CharleeneClosshey.com), and Talent Placement Director, William Goodwin (violist) were also featured on several of Mr. Secada’s tracks, including his original compositions “Same Dream”, “She’s All I Ever Had”, and “Coming Out of the Dark.” “She’s All I Ever Had” was originally composed by Secada for Ricky Martin, who help make a the song a hit. “Coming Out of the Dark” was originally recorded by Gloria Estefan, a close associate of Mr. Secada and part of the team that helped launch his career. Released as an “Enhanced CD,” the album also features additional behind-the-scenes footage showing the performances of the musicians in the recording studio. The album is already receiving rave reviews from coast to coast and the hit single “Window to My Heart” has hit # 9 on the Adult Contemporary Chart and received extensive radio airplay since its release last spring. Released October 25, 2005, the album “Same Dream” boasts extensive distribution around the globe. Pocahontas if i never knew you Continue The romantic love song was originally developed for the prison scene where Pocahontas visits John Smith before he is to be sentenced for the alleged murder of Kokum, a trusted Powhatan warrior who asked to marry Pocahontas. The musical number, which was about 90% animated, was supposed to be a duet performed by the couple as they acknowledge their strong romantic love for each other. During test screenings with a children's audience their attention seemed to wander out of the film, Alan Menken, the songwriter for Disney's Pocahontas, offered to cut it because he also felt he had slowed the tempo of the film, with another song, Savages, about five minutes after that. Although cut out of the movie itself, if I never knew you still performed John Secada and Shanice at the end of the credits and released as a single. John Sekada and Shanis also sang the song in Spanish, and John Sekada also sang it in Brazilian Portuguese, not with Shanice, but with Daniela Mercury. In 2005, Disney released the tenth anniversary edition of Pocahontas, in which the song was fully animated and integrated into the film, but was an additional feature from which it was possible to opt out and watch the original theatrical version instead, due to seamless branching. It was performed by Mel Gibson (John Smith) and Judy Kuhn (Pocahontas) in the film's narration. It was recorded for the original film in 1995. This song shows the meaning, if both Pocahontas and John Smith had not met, they would never have fallen in love, and they would never have known each other without hatred and disgust on both sides; Native Americans and English settlers.

Secada revealed for the rst time today that his father recently passed away from complications associated with chronic HCV infection, a disease that disproportionately aects the Hispanic community. He hopes that sharing his family's personal experience through this bilingual awareness campaign will activate Hispanic Americans with chronic HCV to take action and speak to their doctors about their options. Secada joins Merck, the American Liver Foundation (ALF) and fellow GRAMMY® winners Gregg Allman of The Allman Brothers Band and Natalie Cole on the Tune In to Hep C initiative, which Merck and ALF launched last year. Chronic HCV is a viral infection of the liver that is potentially serious and can damage the liver over time and lead to cirrhosis, end-stage liver disease and liver cancer. Of the approximately 3.2 million Americans who have chronic HCV, an estimated one million are Hispanic. Research has shown that complications due to chronic HCV develop more quickly and result in more health issues in Hispanics when compared to other ethnic groups, especially considering many people infected with chronic HCV, Hispanic or non-Hispanic, do not know that they have the virus 1 – approximately 70 to 80 percent of people newly infected with the virus do not have symptoms.
